EAST HOUSING WELFARE FOR POOR FAMILIES CONTINUING: ONE MORE NEW HOME WARMED

Determined to assist overcome housing needs among the needy in the East, troops of the Security Force - East (SFHQ-E) under the supervision of the Commander Security Force- East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya vested one more newly-constructed house for an underprivileged family in Ampara area on Tuesday 30 November.

SFHQ-East pioneered to launch the construction of this house for a selected family living with great difficulties in Panama area after their living condition was brought to the notice of Army troops serving in respective area.

Construction was effectively carried out by the troops of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the housing project of 'Obata Geyak Ratata Hetak', of the National Housing Development Authority and the house was vested in Mrs K Malo Ethana in Panama.

Religious observances preceded the house warming ceremony. The key of the house was handed over during a brief ceremony by the Commander Security Force - East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division Major General Chaminda Lamahewa, Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Senior Military Officers of SFHQ-E and family members of beneficiary along with civilians in the village were present at the ceremony.
