  • RED CROSS SOCIETY DONATES 1000 MORE PPE TO ARMY PERSONNEL

    Commander Security Force (East) Major General Senarath Bandara, on Friday (17) received 1000 more Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) overalls as a donation from the Red Cross Society, Colombo.

  • 232 BRIGADE COORDINATES A DONATION FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

    With the directions of the Commander Security Force (East), Major General Senarath Bandara, 232 Brigade coordinated a donation programme of dry ration packs, kitchen equipment and bedding items for 50 needy families during a ceremony held at Shalika Hall Dehiaththakandiya on 23 June 2020. The sponsors were coordinated by the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara and Colonel General Staff SFHQ(E) Colonel Subath Sanjeewa under the auspices of Dr. Gayan Wedawatta UK, Dr. Nilupa Udawatta, Australia, Ms Avanthi Angammana, UK, Ms Iroshini Dassanayake, Australia, Mr. & Mrs A. De Silva UK, Dr. Anupa Manewa UK, Dr. Himali Somaweera, Mr. Sagara Kalutotage and Ms. Erandathi Rajakaruna USA.

  • DEFENCE SECRETARY SPEAKS TO THE TROOPS OF TRI SEVICE, POLICE, STF AND CSD IN THE EAST

    Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, met Tri service, Police, STF and CSD troops of the Eastern Theatre and commended on the roles of the Armed Forces, Police and CSD in the fight against COVID-19 and extended New Year greetings on Friday (17).

    On the directions of the Ministry of Health & Indigenous Medical Services and acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Security Force Headquarters East to be put up two new Quarantine Centers at Batticaloa Campus Punani and Rehabilitation Centre Kandakadu to have Sri Lankans and foreigners arriving from Iran, Italy and South Korea quarantined for two weeks against Corona virus.
