Civilians of Wadimunai, Uththuchchinai and Kallachchi area, thanks to an initiative of the Security Force - East were the recipients of free dry ration packets on Monday (03) with sponsorship, extended by the “Siyamcity Cement”(pvt ) Limited Company.
Under the guidelines and supervision of the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard troops organized the distribution at the Uththuchchinai Tamil School premises at Uththuchchinai, 250 dry ration packs worth of Rs 6000/=, each were distributed among the 250 families of low income.
Furthermore, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces - East attended as the Chief Guest and the project was coordinated by Venerable Ketakubure Dharmaramathera, principle of the “Nalandha” Buddhist School at Pallekale, Major General Shewanth Kulathunge, General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Colonel Priyashan Malwarage, Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Rajive Fernando, Chief Civil Coordinating Officer Security Forces - East, Lieutenant Colonel Prabhath Halpage, Civil Coordinating Officer Security Forces - East, Major Chandana Wanninayaka, Commanding Officer, 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, Several Officers, Other ranks and representatives of the donor agency took part in the distribution ceremony.
