CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS GIVEN LUNCH

Children of “Ozanam” Special Need Children Center at Sathurkondan- Batticoloa , thanks to an initiative of the Security Force - East were the recipients of free dry ration packets and provide a delicious lunch, on Sunday (09) with sponsorship, extended by the 5th (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Woman’s Corps - Welikanda.

Under the guidelines and supervision of the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, 5th (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Woman’s Corps and 4th The Gemunu Watch troops organized the distribution at the “Ozanam” special needs Children Center premises at Sathurkondan , took steps to provide a delicious lunch and worth of Rs 60,000.00 dry ration pack were distributed among the 24 Children with special needs.

Furthermore, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces - East attended as the Chief Guest and taking a personal interest in the project took time off on Sunday (09) to spend a couple of hours with those inmates during the treat and afterwards. Those children with different skills presented their artistic flavor by drawing arts and showing their handcrafts and dancing, etc to the officers and soldiers present at the venue. Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, Commander of 231 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Prabhath Halpage ,Civil Coordinating Officer Security Forces - East, Lieutenant Colonel Dammika Weerasinghe, Civil Coordinating Officer 231 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Menaka Gunarathna, Commanding Officer, 4th the Gemunu Watch, Lieutenant Colonel Suminda Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer 5th (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Woman’s Corps ,Several Officers and Other Ranks took part in the event.
