COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (EAST) MAKES HIS FINAL VISIT TO UNDER COMMAND FORMATIONS

Prior to the departure from the SFHQ-E in Welikanda, the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Channa Weerasuriya made courtesy visits to 22, 23 and 24 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (East) Minneriya on 12 and 13 December 2021.

Major General Weerasuriya first arrived at the Headquarters Forward Maintenance Area (East), Minneriya on Sunday 12 where the visiting Commander was accorded a ‘Drive Pass’ salute around the main entrance. The Commander was welcomed by Colonel FMA (East), Colonel Iran Lokuketagoda, Commanding Officers and other Staff Officers of FMA(East).

Addressing the troops, the Commander SF-E specially highlighted the values of discipline and insisted the soldiers to give priority for training to face the challenges of the Army in future. Further, he urged them to stick to the health guidelines in the present pandemic situation in the country. Later, the visiting Commander posed for a group photograph and had a tea at the Officers’ Mess of 3 SLAOC.

The Commander SF-E afterwards, visited the Headquarters 22 Infantry Division, Trincomalee where he was received by the General Officer Commanding, Major General Sanath Aluvihare. Afterwards, the Commander SF (E) addressed the troops and insisted upon the vested responsibility of wining the hearts and minds of the multi ethnic communities of the area while preserving the image of the Army. Moreover, he emphasized on continuing professional training and continuation of the good work while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels.

Later on, the Commander posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling at the premises in memory of this visit. At last, the Commander noted his thoughts on the Visitors Book before his departure.

On the following day, the Commander SF(East) visited the 23 and 24 Divisions as well and attended the respective formalities. During the visits, the Commander was warmly welcomed by both General Officers Commanding Major General Nalin Koswatte and Major General Chaminda Lamahewa respectively. The visiting commander addressed the troops at both occasions and appreciated the services rendered by all ranks during his office and motivated them to continue to offer their services effectively in future as well.
