  • CENTRAL TROOPS WERE LECTURED ON WELFARE SERVICES.

    The troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) were lectured on welfare services by the Directorate of Movement. Representing the Directorate of Movement, three officers and four soldiers participated in this lecture on 19 December 2019 at the lecture hall of Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS).

  • TROOPS PARTICIPATED IN A MEDITATION PROGRAMME.

    Aiming to reduce the stress of the soldiers in order to uplift the livelihoods of them a meditation programme (Lakwiru Manasika Suwatha – One day Meditation Programme) was conducted on 17 December 2019 at the Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa. This was organized by the Directorate of Psychological Operations.

  • THE TROOPS CONTRIBUTED TO TAKE THE GOLDEN STATUE TO THE PEAK OF SRI PADA

    The Sri Pada is a pilgrimage site that has been held sacred by the devotees from the ancient times. The pilgrim season of Sri Pada was commenced on the auspicious time at the dawn of Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day. Intending to improve the spirituality of the pilgrims a golden statue of Lord Buddha was taken to the peak of the Sri Pada Temple by a large number of war heroes under command to Security Forces (Central) on 07 December 2019 under the Direction of the Chief incumbent of Sri Pada. As per the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), the Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade supervised this religious commitment. The Golden statue was made in Thailand and it was brought to the island by air.

  • MILITARY SUPPORT FROM CENTRAL TROOPS TO PROTECT THE NATURE

    Ella is a renowned area of tourist attraction as well as sightseeing which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) in the Uva Region. Unfortunately, the area faces a majority of natural disasters such as wildfire and earth slips. Due to the recent fire occurred naturally, most of the areas got destroyed and lost the magnificence in the green hills.

  • THE WALK OF TWO DISABLED SOLDIERS TOOK PLACE ACROSS THE SF (CEN )AOR

    Soldiers of Sri Lanka Army dedicatedly fought 30 years war in order to wipe the terrorism from the soils of the mother land. In achieving this, most of the soldiers who got wounded and disabled during the war are still under medication. The commitment of them to make a fear free society is appreciated all the time and the whole nation is grateful to them.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS ASSIST TO CLEAR THE RAILWAY LINE

    Paralyzing the railway services, a soil embankment has obstructed the railway passage at Obadaella area in Bandarawela which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 05 December 2019 due to heavy rains.

    Due to heavy rains prevailing in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) the troops from under command formations have already been deployed for evacuations and relief operations.

  • A SEMINAR FOR O/L STUDENTS

    A seminar was organized by the 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) in conjunction with the Zonal Education Office, Monaragala for students who are intending to take the O/L Examination in 2019. Under the direction of the Brigade Commander of 121 Brigade, Brigadier N C Somaweera RWP RSP USP this important seminar was conducted at Ethimale Maha Vidyalaya, Monaragala on 27 November 2019 with the participation of 200 students. While the resource personnel from Zonal Education Office conducted the seminar the lunch was provided by the Brigade for all the participants.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL CONTRIBUTED AN ECO FRIENDLY PROGRAMME.

    In accordance with a concept of the HE the President, island wide programmes are conducted to beautify the main cities as well as crowded towns. Consequently, a shramadana campaign was organized in Diyatalawa town which has paramount importance for tourism. This shramadana campaign was launched on 28 November 2019 under the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the supervision of the Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central). During the campaign, the priority was accorded to the cleanliness and beautification of the city.
