  • TROOPS CONTROLLED A SUDDEN FIRE IN SFHQ (CEN ) AOR

    Security Forces (Central) AOR is liable for many natural disasters. Consequently, on 31 January 2020 a sudden fire occurred in Sarasavigama area in Gampola. Sooner the incident reported, the troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment, 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training were tasked to control the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 11 Division.

  • TROOPS CLEANED THE COASTAL AREA OF KIRINDA

    A cleaning programme was launched on the theme “The Environment is Worshipful” (Parisaraya Pujaniyai) by the military personnel in accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army. As a result of the carelessness of the visitors who come to feel the beauty of the Kirinda coastal area in Hambantota the beach has lost its beauty. Therefore, with the intention of cleaning the beach, more than hundred military personnel under command to 122 Brigade contributed this eco friendly programme on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu under the supervision of the Brigade Commander of 122 Brigade, Brigadier A H L G Amarapala RWP RSP.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL WERE LECTURED ON BEEKEEPING

    In parallel with the Wednesday Training Programme, a lecture was organized by the 11 Division of Security Forces (Central) to educate the troops on Beekeeping Industry. This lecture was conducted by Mr Thissa Bandara, the Secretary, Bee Protection Organization on 22 January 2020 at the lecture hall of the Division on the direction of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General W G H A S Bandara RWP RSP ndu. Further, 10 officers and 100 soldiers from the Division Headquarters and its under command Brigades, Units and Training Schools participated in this important lecture.

  • AN IMPORTANT WORKSHOP WAS CONDUCTED FOR MILITARY OFFICERS

    A training programme was organized for Middle Grade Officers of the Sri Lanka Army by the Directorate of Training from 06 January 2020 to 09 January 2020 at the lecture hall of the 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch in Diyatalawa.

  • TROOPS WERE LECTURED ON CAUSES OF COMMITTING SUICIDE

    A lecture has been conducted on the causes of committing suicide by the Directorate of Army Preventive Medicine and Mental Health Service on 22 January 2020 at the Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa. This timely lecture was conducted with the instructions of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu. At this lecture, Major U P Mallawaarachchi RWP RSP along with four other Psychological Counselors from Directorate of Army Preventive Medicine and Mental Health Service educated the military personnel of Security Forces (Central) and its under command formations on this subject

  • TROOPS CONDUCTED A SHRAMADANA IN WEDASITI KANDA

    On the direction of Major General A L P S Thilakarathne RWP RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 12 Division of Security Forces (Central) a shramadana campaign was conducted at Wedasiti Kanda in Kataragama on 15 January 2020.

  • TROOPS AT SECURITY FORCES (CENTRAL) PRAYED FOR VICTIMS IN AUSTRALIA.

    In accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army a Bodhi Pooja was organized by Security Force Headquarters (Central) in order to pray for the victims in Australia. On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), this Bodhi Pooja was held at the Hermitage in Kahagolla on 14 January 2020 in order to transfer merits to Aussies and animals perished in recent bushfire as well as to invoke blessings on the country. The Brigadier General Staff of SF (Central), Brigadier K R K K T Bandara RSP USP as well as all the Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving in Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and Volunteer Force Training School participated in this Bodhi Pooja.

  • 121 BRIGADE COMPLETES 6 YEARS.

    121 Brigade which is under command to Security Force Headquarters (Central), celebrated the 6th anniversary under the guidance and supervision of the Brigade Commander of 121 Brigade, Brigadier N C Somaweera RWP RSP USP.
