  • CENTRAL TROOPS CELEBRATED THE 70TH ARMY DAY

    On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Army flag was hoisted by the Brigadier General Staff of this Headquarters and the Army song was sung by all the Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of both Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and Volunteer Force Training School, in parallel with the 70th Army Day celebrations on 10 October 2019.

  • NEW SO 1 (LOG) AT SFHQ (CENTRAL) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel K M J N R K Chandrasekare of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) assumed duties as the new Staff Officer 1 (Logistics) at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) at an auspicious time on 07 October 2019 at the office premises.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS PARTICIPATED IN A YOGA PROGRAMME.

    In accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc and the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP USP VSV ndu, a basic course of Yoga had been conducted for ten days at the Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy. The troops under command to Security Forces (Central) participated in this programme.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL ASSIST THE GENERAL PUBLIC

    A huge rock fallen from a mountain range obstructed the Ella – Kumbalwela main road on 02 October 2019 and it disturbed the transportation of the area. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, one officer and ten soldiers of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) have taken prompt actions to remove the rock and control the situation.

  • MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO PROTECT THE NATURE.

    Military assistance was given for a reforestation programme which was conducted at Uva Karadagolla village on 03 October 2019. Aiming to nourish the catchment area in Ella which heavily affected by the recent bush fire. The area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, one officer and ten soldiers of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) launched this reforestation programme in conjunction with the students of Colombo University. Further, Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces (Central), Lieutenant Colonel W R M P Wijesundara of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps, planted a Jak tree at this occasion.

  • THE CULTURAL FESTIVAL IN YATINUWARA CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY.

    The cultural festival ‘Diyawaraka Aswenna’ which was organized by the Yatinuwara Divisional Secretariat was held on 05 and 06 September 2019 at the Sunil S Abeysundara ground in Kadugannawa. Representing Army, three officers and forty five soldiers participated in this event.

  • MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO PROTECT THE NATURE.

    Military assistance was given for a reforestation programme which was conducted at the catchment area of Victoriya Hydroelectric Power Plant which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 10 and 11 September 2019. Responding to the request made by the Ceylon Electricity Board, the soldiers from Sri Lanka Rifle Corps provided the assistance under the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central) and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division. The staff of the Electricity Board also provided their support to make this event a success. Further, the participants were appreciated by the organizing committee for their contribution to plant the trees in order to nourish the Reserve which is of paramount importance in developing and protecting the environment for the future generation.

  • NEW STAFF OFFICER 2 (S &T ) OF SFHQ (CENTRAL) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Major A M C M Alahakoon of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, assumed duties as the new Staff Officer 2 ( Supply and Transport ) at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) at an auspicious time on 12 September 2019 at the office premises. Major Alahakoon is a well experienced senior officer who has discharged duties in many establishments in the island. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) extended their wishes to the newly appointed Staff Officer.

  • TROOPS TAKE MEASURES TO CONTROL A SUDDEN FIRE IN SF (CEN ) AOR

    The wildfire occurred on 12 September 2019 around 1730 hours in Bogahakumbura area, Bandarawela was extinguished by the troops on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, one officer and twenty soldiers from the Headquarters of Security Forces (Central) reached the place immediately to douse the fire.

  • TROOPS CONTRIBUTED THE ANNUAL NELUM PUJA

    17th September 2019 08:14:03 Hours

    For the 8th consecutive year, a bodhi puja was organized to offer 50000 Nelum flowers by Sri Sudharmarama Viharaya in Haldummulla on 07 September 2019. Responding to a request made by the Chief Incumbent of the temple, Ven. Kahagolle Ananda Thero, ten soldiers of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) participated in this Bodhi Puja under the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central). Further, the fallen as well as disabled military personnel were also remembered at this religious ceremony.
