On 14 February 2026 at approximately 1145 hours, the Headquarters of the 112 Infantry Brigade, under the 11 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (Central), received information from the Disaster Management Centre – Badulla regarding an accident that had occurred at a rock quarry site in the Liyangahwela area, falling under the Bandarawewa Divisional Secretariat. According to the report, two workers had lost their lives as a result of the incident.

On the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, and under the guidance of the Logistics Command, (Central), Major General RD Sale ndc, a course on Unit Administration and Accounting was conducted at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) for 12 Young Officers belonging to units of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) Area.
