In response to the request made by the chief incumbent, Venerable Godawaye Gnanaloka Thero of Sasanaloka Rajamaha Viharaya, Katuwewa, Hambantota, from General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division, Major General WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, officers and other ranks of 12 Infantry Division donated drinking water and dry rations which were requested by chief incumbent on 04,05 and 06 April 2025, for the use of people who were displaced due to the earthquake took place recently in Mandalay, Myanmar.

The Karadandara tank embankment in the Siyambalanduwa Divisional Secretariat Division of the Monaragala district was under threat of collapse due to the heavy rainfalls experienced during recent past. Following a request made by the Monaragala Disaster Management Center, on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, Major General WSN Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, troops of the 18 Bn of the Gemunu Watch promptly responded and carried out repairs to the tank embankment on 18th and 19th March 2025. Under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, and with the supervision of the Commanding Officer, 01 x 25 troops of 18 Battalion of the Gemunu Watch engaged in repair works of the tank embankment.
