  • SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (CENTRAL) WELCOMES 2024

    Upon the directions of the Commander Security Force (Central), troops at the Security Force Headquarters greeted the first working day in the New Year-2024 with the customary flag-raising, reading of the state allegiance oath, recital of the national anthem and the Army song, and reading Commander's New Year message on 01 January 2024. Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters, extended his best wishes to all officers and staff and delivered a formal address after the tea party held at the camp premises.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS PROMPTLY CLEAR OBSTRUCTED RAIL TRACK AND MAIN ROAD

    Troops under Security Force – Central promptly made their assistance to clear obstructed rail track near Bandarawela Railway Station during the afternoon on 28 December 2023. The railway line was obstructed due to an earth slip erupted upon the rainy condition. The railway department members assisted army troops to restore the train movements.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS ASSIST PROCESSION CARRYING ‘GOD SAMAN’ STATUE

    Concurrently to the commencement of Sri Pada season, Army troops of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Central lent their manpower for carriage of God Sumana Saman statue in the procession to be placed atop the Sri Pada on Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day, 26 December 2023.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS INVOLVE IN DISASTER RESPONSE TASKS IN BANDARAWELA

    Vehicular and train mobility in upcountry were obstructed due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions in past few days. As per the recent developments, the main road runs from Bandarawela to Welimada was barricaded due to an uprooted tree at the 6th Mile Post, Mirahawatta area during the morning on 19 December 2023. Disaster response team belongs to Security Force Headquarters Central made necessary initiatives to removed the fallen tree and restore the vehicular movements along the main road, with the assistance provided by Road Development Authority and Disaster Management Centre.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS INVOLVE IN DISASTER RESPONSE TASKS IN HAPUTHALE

    Another team of disaster response troops belongs to Security Force Headquarters Central rushed to the disaster scene near the Haputale Railway Station in the morning of 19 December 2023, to clear the soil mounds and rocks that were blocking the train movements from Colombo to Badulla. The enduring operation of army members was backed by the members of Railway Department.

  • DISASTER AFFECTED PEOPLE RECEIVE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FROM ARMY AT KELIPANAWELA

    A number of 250 disaster affected people residing in Koslanda – Kelipanawala area were shifted from the risk area to safe shelters on 11 December 2023, with the support of Army and government authorities.

    Since the landslide red alert issued for Kelipanawela - Haldummula area, Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat made necessary initiatives to shift 31 residing families to safe shelters with the assistance of Army and Police on 11 December 2023.

  • UP COUNTRY TROOPS RESTORE RAILWAY OPERATIONS IN HALIELA

    The train operations along the upcountry railway line was interrupte due to a slight earth slip near the rail gate at 5th Mile Post, Haliela - Uduwara on 10 December 2023.

  • ARMY ASSIST PROVIDING SHELTERS FOR DISASTER VICTIMS IN HALDUMMULLA

    Given to the government warning over the active disaster prone area in Kelipanawela - Haldummulla, 200 acres circumference habitation was directed to isolate the area by the National Building Research Organization on 11 December 2023. Thus a number of 141 civilians belong to 31 families were shifted to safe area temporarily.

  • ARMY RESTORES VEHICULAR MOVEMENTS ALONG NUWARAELIYA - AWISSAWELLA ROAD
