Based on an information received, by the troops of Military Intelligence persons who attached to the 12 Infantry Division together with officers of Tangalle police have arrested a suspected person along with 1200 no of Illegal foreign cigarettes(Manchester) at general area Tangalle on 16 January 2025. The arrested person and1200 Illegal cigarettes have been handed over to the Tangalle Police Station for further investigations.

The ceremony began on January 1st with a flag hoisting event by Major General K A U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, General Officer Commanding, Deputy General Officer Commanding Brigadier T C Harasgama RSP 11 Infantry Division raised the National Flag and the Division Flag respectively and joint singing of National Anthem and the Army song.

The troops of 20th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment restored the tank bund of Mahara tank at Uva KudaOya which was slightly damaged due to adverse weather condition on 17 December 2024 using sand bags and chumps. The prompt action was taken by troops of 20 SLSR under the guidance of Commander 121 infantry Brigade with the supervision of Commanding Officer 20 SLSR.
