AN ENCHANTING BUDDHIST CELEBRATION UNDER 12 INFANTRY DIVISION

Under the 12 Infantry Division of SFHQ (Central), the Vesak Festival was celebrated in a charming and devotional manner in commemoration of the Birth, Enlightenment and the ‘Parinirwana’ of Lord Buddha. A grand lantern competition was organized from May 12 to May 16, 2025, at the premises of the ‘Double Tree by Hilton – Weerawila Rajawarna’ Hotel, under the guidance of Colonel BDTD Jayaratne psc, the Commander of 122 Infantry Brigade Headquarters. Major General WSN Hemaratne RWP RSP psc, General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest with the participation of troops under 12 Infantry division and by courtesy of the staff of ‘Double Tree by Hilton – Weerawila Rajawarna’ . An Ice Cream ‘Dansala’ has also been organized at the venue.
