  • ARMED FORCES CELEBRATED THE POPPY CEREMONY

    The Armed Forces Remembrance Day and the Poppy Ceremony organized by the Sri Lankan Ex-Servicemen’s Association was held on 10 November 2019 at George E De Silva Park in Kandy. The Governor of Central Province, Hon. Keerthi Thennekoon and the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division along with Senior Officers and Officers participated in this ceremony.

  • TROOPS PARTICIPATED IN A TIMELY LECTURE

    A lecture was conducted aiming to improve the attitudes of the soldiers in order to uplift the livelihoods of them. This timely lecture was held on 06 November 2019 at the lecture hall of the 11 Division of Security Force Headquarters (Central). Further, the lecture was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Samanthi Bandara of National Cadet Corps representing the Directorate of Psychological Operations.

  • TROOPS CONTRIBUTED FOR THE SUCCESS OF A COMMUNAL EFFORT

    Donating blood is the most charitable affair in one’s life whereas the military personnel always show a tendency towards donating blood. Accordingly, Troops at Security Force Headquarters (Central) also voluntarily donated blood at a campaign which was organized by Medical Officers of Health in Bandarawela. Further, this charity campaign was held on 02 November 2019 at the office premises Medical Officers of Health.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL AND PARENTS WERE LECTURED ON AVOIDING DEPRESSION

    A series of lectures have been conducted on Depression and how it cause to commit suicide by the Psychological Counselors and Doctors at CIIHE on 28, 29, 30 October 2019 at Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Divisional Secretariat- Diyatalawa, Municipal Council- Bandarawela and Divisional Secretariat- Bandarawela respectively. In accordance with the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the supervision of the Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Force (Central), Lieutenant Colonel W R M P Wijesundara of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL CONTRIBUTE A BLOOD DONATION

    A blood donation campaign was organized by the Sri Lanka Transport Board, Balangoda for the 90th time at the auditorium of Divisional Secretariat of Balangoda on 30 October 2019.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL ASSIST THE GENERAL PUBLIC

    The rocks fallen from the mountain range beside the Ella – Kumbalwela main road obstructed the road on 27 October 2019 and it disturbed the transportation of the area. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, troops under command to 112 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) have taken a great effort toclear the blocked road.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO ARE TO BE RETIRED FROM THE ACTIVE SERVICE IN THE NEAR FUTURE WERE LECTURED

    In accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, a lecture was conducted for the military personnel who are to be retired from the active service in the near future.

  • THE YALA ASWANU POOJA CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY

    The Yala Aswanu Pooja (Yala Harvesting Pooja) which was organized by the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources and Disaster Management, was taken place at Sri Dalanda Maligawa premises on 03 October 2019 at 0800 hours with the participation of 3000 farmers. The troops under command to 11 Division of Security Forces (Central), contributed to make this a success by putting up tents for the Dansala and preparing meals as well as offering the meals to the devotees of this pooja. For this, three Officers and forty Other Ranks provided their fullest contribution.

  • 11 DIV COMD VISITS DISABLED SOLDIERS

    Soldiers who got wounded and disabled during the war are still under medication at Abhimansala in Pangolla. Therefore, visiting them frequently in order to admire the dedicated service to the motherland is a consolation for them. Consequently, Major General W G H A S Bandara RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division of Security Forces (Central), visited them on 10 October 2019 along with few more Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL CONTRIBUTE A BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN.

    14th October 2019 12:15:53 Hours

    Military personnel at Security Forces Headquarters (Central) donated blood at the Blood Donation Campaign organized by the Diyatalawa Maha Vidyalaya on 01 October 2019 at the school premises. On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP USP VSV ndu, one officer and thirty soldiers from under command units donated blood at this campaign to save the precious lives of patients who are in need of blood. Moreover, the organizing committee extended their gratitude towards them for their sincere support provided to make this communal effort a success.
