Responsible area of Security Forces (Central) is liable for many natural disasters. Consequently, on 18 August 2020 a sudden fire occurred in Mahagodayaya in Buttala which is located in the responsible area of 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central). Sooner the incident reported, one officer and twenty five soldiers from 121 Brigade were tasked to control the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP and the supervision of the Brigade Commander of 121 Brigade, Colonel D U N Serasinghe RWP RSP. Further, the Officials of Buttala Police and the Forest Department also provided their assistance to douse the wild fire completely.

A sudden fire occurred at the residence of parliament member Mr Jeewan Thondamen around 1030 hours on 18 August 2020. It was controlled by the troops on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP. A team consisted of two officers and fifteen soldiers from 3 (V) Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment.

The wild fire occurred in Kaluambathenna area in Diyatalawa on 05 August 2020 was controlled by the troops. The mentioned area is located within the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, twenty two soldiers from this Headquarters rushed to the place and controlled the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP.

The wild fire occurred in Kithalella area in Bandarawela was controlled by the troops on 01 August 2020. The mentioned area is located within the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, two officers and twenty nine soldiers from this Headquarters and 112 Brigade controlled the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP.

A cleaning Programme was launched in the Municipal Council area of Kandy in order to make ready the city for the Esala Perahera and to destroy the Dengue breeding places. Accordingly, thirty soldiers from under command units of 111 Brigade in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Police, members of Kandy Municipal Council and Health Sector conducted this programme on 18 July 2020.

After 14 days quarantine process, 58 Sri Lankans who came from Malaysia were released under medical instructions on 15 July 2020. They were quarantined at Pelgahathenna Quarantine Centre in Passara which is operated under the supervision of 11 Division. Further, the quarantine certificates were also issued before they left the premises.
