ARMY TROOPS COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION OF 19 HOUSES FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Genaral Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc MPhil pioneered and coordinated to launch a mega housing project with the aim of upgrading living standards of under privileged families in central province. Upon the conceptual guidance of Army Chief, Commander Security Force (Central) Major General MKS Silva RWP RSP ndu directed under command troops of 11 Infantry Division to complete construction of 19 selected half built houses in Aluthwatta Gramaseva Division of Teldeniya area, and handed over the completed houses to needy families during a formal ceremony held on 24 May 2022.

The construction project was powered with the financial donation of Rs.11,928,634.11 made by well-known philanthropist Mr Mohan Shankar.

Commander 111 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Mr Mohan Shankar and Mrs Vadhani Shankar, Troops committed in the welfare project and civil community witnessed the programme.
