Troops of Security Force (Central) initiated another welfare project to address the basic requirements of all communities living in their territory. On the guidance and direction of Commander Security Force (Central) Major General MKS Silva RWP RSP ndu, troops coordinated a distribution program of dry ration packs and essential food items for low- income families representing all communities residing in Craig Estate Punagala in Bandarawela area on 26 may 2022. A Number of 100 families were benefitted upon the timely initiative of Sri Lanka Army and they were distributed with dry ration packs inclusive of samba rice, onions, dhal, salt, spices, salmon, sugar and soya meat. The donors from Canada extended financial donations for the welfare programme.
The distribution event was graced by the Commander Security Force (Central) as chief guest. Senior Officers, Superintendent Craig Tea Estate, Troops and Residents joined in the programme.
