A huge heap of earth which blocked the entire traffic movement along the road from Norton Bridge to Laxapana after a landslide affected the area due to torrential rains was cleared by Army troops of the 112 Brigade on Wednesday, 03 August 2022 braving bad weather.
As per the directions of Major General Kalpa Sanjeewa, the General Officer Commanding 11 Infantry Division, troops under 112 Infantry Brigade swiftly rushed to the place and attended to the emergency need. After a few hours, the road was declared opened to the traffic with the support of civil authorities.
