The Kandy Esala Perahera commenced on 02 August 2022 to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy saw the end with Grand Randoli procession on Friday, 12 August 2022.
Troops under command to 11 Infantry division of Security Force (Central), delivered much needed assistance to assure security of general public gathered to witness the annual festival. Commander Security Force (Central) Major General Samantha Silva guided troops to extend fullest support during the Buddhist festival which summoned both local and foreign crowds.
