Troops of the Regimental Centre of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment managed to provide a temporary solution to the suddenly damaged road near Bathalagoda Lake close to Periyakadunelawa, Ibbagamuwa District Secretariat Division on 19 October 2022. The edge of this road had been subjected to land sliding due to continuous heavy rainfall and was obstructing the daily transportation, even enforcing a threat to the nearby houses.

The newly appointed 13th Chief of Staff (COS) at Office of Chief of Defence Staff, Major General S R B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc assumed duties on 10 October 2022 during a brief ceremony held at the OCDS.
Amidst the blessing of the noble Triple-Gem, the new COS of OCDS signed an official document, signifying the acceptance of the new appointment.

The Sri Lanka Army, honored as “Defender of the Nation” celebrated its 73rd anniversary (The Army Day) with splendor at Panagoda, Sri Lanka Light Infantry parade ground on 10 October 2022.
The 73rd Army Day parade which consisted of 77 Officers and 652 Other Ranks of all 25 Regiments with colour squads, was commanded by Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage.

Lance Corporal Fernando of 8th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment arrived to the Motherland after participating for the 8th World Carrom Championship 2022 which was held from 03 to 07 October 2022 in Langkawi, Malaysia. The Sri Lankan team emerged as the 1st Runners-up during the tournament after competing with 17 international teams which are members of the International Carrom Federation.

Under the direct guidance of the Regimental Centre Commandant and under supervision and coordination of the 6th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, the newly upgraded “Archers Mini Super” shopping centre built according to modern standards was ceremonially declared open by the Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage on 01 October 2022 at Regimental Centre premises.

Under the instructions given by the Army Headquarters, with the guidance of Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage and under direct supervision and coordination of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, equipment & essential materials were donated to Kurunegala Maliyadeva Orphanage & Maliyadeva Elderly Home on 01 October 2022.

Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage officially handed over a complementary set of team outfits to the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Handball players on 28 September 2022, at the Office of Director General General Staff, Sri Lanka Army Headquarters.
During this event, the Colonel of the Regiment had a brief discussion with the VIR Handball players, and encouraged them to perform well throughout the upcoming events.
