Troops of the Regimental Centre of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment managed to provide a temporary solution to the suddenly damaged road near Bathalagoda Lake close to Periyakadunelawa, Ibbagamuwa District Secretariat Division on 19 October 2022. The edge of this road had been subjected to land sliding due to continuous heavy rainfall and was obstructing the daily transportation, even enforcing a threat to the nearby houses.
The VIR troops were able to provide a temporary solution by amending the edge of the road with sand bags, so as to allow uninterrupted transportation and safety to the nearby villagers. Civilians around the area also provided a helping hand for this task. Government officials and also the civilians were highly grateful and appreciated the swift and timely initiative taken by the troops of the Regimental Centre of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
