Direct Enlisted Professional Officers who have undergone No -11 Officer Cadet Course, which was conducted by Volunteer Force Training School Diyatalawa was, successfully completed on the 22nd of February 2022. Also 11 Agriculture Professional Officers have completed the course and were attached to Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

To uplift the welfare of the Officers and Other Ranks of Corps of Agriculture taking another step forward under the guidance of the Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP the Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, the laying of foundation stone for new Holiday Bungalow at 3 (V) SLACAL, Kandakadu was held on 20th Feb 2022(Today). Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Lt Col DLCN Muththanthirige Commanding Officer 3(V) SLACAL.

The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) which was initiated as a concept of the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil on 07 January 2021 in order to pioneer the Government’s effort with island wide agriculture and livestock projects was empowered with six young officers including two lady officers ( Intake 89, 90 and Volunteer Lady Intake 17) who received their commission at the 96th Commissioning Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 19th December 2021. This will be written in the annals of the Corps of Agriculture history as well as Military Academy history the first set of officers who are originally posted to this newly established regiment of the Sri Lanka Army.

The newly formed Corps of Agriculture and Livestock on January 4, 2021, as per the new concept and vision of His Excellency the President "Vistas of Prosperity and splendour" ,participated for the 74th Independence Day Celebrations under the patronage of His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Independence Square, Colombo on February 4, 2022 for the first time, adding a new remarkable page to the history of the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock as well as now the Agriculture Corps are in the forefront of driving the green agriculture national drive while simultaneously entering into mass scale cultivations across the country.
