Visualizing the requirement of improving the living standards of civil staff of 4th Armoured Regiment, newly renovated accommodation building was declared open by the Lt Col D P A S A Witharana psc, Commanding Officer 4 AR on Monday, 24 October 2022 with a simple ceremony. The troops of 4 AR contributed to this worthy effort by providing labour support.

Having noble intention to uplift the spirits of our differently-abled war heroes and to look in to their well-being, the Chairperson of Armour Ladies Club, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota and fellow members together with several Senior Officers visited the ‘Abimansala-3’, wellness resort - Pangolla on 22 October 2022. The day's event unfolded with ward visits followed by offering of delectable snacks and donation of gift packs to individual inmates.

Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, the Centre Commandant SLAC, Brigadier M W A R C Wijesuriya RSP USP, Commander Armd Bde warmly welcomed the senior officers on their arrival at the Regimental Centre.

1st Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps celebrated its 67th anniversary on 10 October 2022 during a series of commemorative celebrations, inclusive of planting of sapling, the ceremonial opening of the newly constructed salon for the benefit of the Officers and Other Ranks of the regiment, the pinning of ranks insignia for newly promoted Other Ranks of the regiment, and the ceremonial launching of the special vehicle received to carry President's Standards. The day’s proceedings were presided by Lieutenant Colonel W D S D Wickramaarachchi RWP RSP USP psc, the Commanding Officer of 1 SLAC.

Clappenburg Premises of 4 Armoured Regiment successfully concluded an Outbound Training Programme for Undergraduates of the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Science and Commerce – University of Sri Jayewardenepura: recommencing the Training Programme after many years. Fifty-two Undergraduates took part in this five-day Outbound Training Programme manifesting their enthusiasm towards building Personality and Skills Development individually and group-wise.

Cavalry family bid farewell to Major General G D Sooriyabandara USP on his retirment after 34 plus years of illustrious military career in the Army on 05 October 2022 at Rock House Army camp. Before his retirement, in conformity to military traditions, commemoration of War Heroes was done at War Heroes' monument at Kalattewa on 04 October 2022.

The 4 Armoured Regiment celebrated its 31st Anniversary on 24 September 2022 by conducting numerous events. To invoke blessings, Multi-religious rituals were conducted at the camp premises on 19 September followed by an almsgiving to Dimutugama Samudrarama temple on 20 September. On 22 September, children of “Rewatha Children's Home” were served breakfast, lunch and dinner and also presented a pair of school shoes for each kid. Commemoration and remembrance of fallen war heroes were held on 23 September with the participation of the Commanding Officer and All Ranks. Commanding Officer was offered with the guard turnout on 24 September followed by tree planting, troop address, presenting of a gift to the best cook of the second quarter of year 2022. With the generous contribution of the father of the regiment Brig CSNB Mudannayake RWP psc school bags and stationeries were presented to three needy families at the culmination of the day’s proceedings.

Focusing on current economic crisis in Sri Lanka, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, the President Armour Ladies Club and the members had taken initiative to give away of essential items each worth of Rs. 5000.00 utilising the ladies welfare fund for deserving 100 pregnant ladies of the soldiers and civil employees of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps with the essential items that they need at the hospital for a newborn.
