  • NEW HOUSE BUILT BY 5TH RECCE REGIMENT DONATED TO A NEEDY FAMILY

    Under the direction of the Armoured Brigade, the 5th Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps constructed a new house for a needy family at Melsiripura, Kurunegala, with the consent of Security Forces Headquarters (West) along with the financial assistant from Mr. Rohan Gunasekara.

  • INTER UNIT DRILL COMPETITION 2022

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Inter Unit Drill Competition 2022, the final award of trophies to the winners, got underway at Armoured Corps Training Centre Ground – Kalaththewa on Thursday 31 March 2022 evening amid limited gathering. The Chief Guest of the event was Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, the Centre Commandant SLAC.

  • “KINGS’ CAFE” EXTENDED ITS FACILITIES WITH NEW OUTLET

    Extending its facilities, a new outlet of “KINGS’ CAFE” Welfare Facility Complex of Armoured Brigade was newly established adjoining the Rock House Playground facing to the Mutwal - Petta road and declared opened by Brigadier P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the Commander Armoured Brigade on Thursday, 31 March 2022.

  • TWO DAYS LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP FOR SENIOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS

    As per a concept of Colonel Commandant SLAC, Armoured Corps Training Centre has conducted the Phase II of Two-Day Leadership Workshop for the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of Armoured Corps with the close supervision of Brigadier P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the Commander Armoured Brigade on 23 and 24 March 2022. During the first day session Lieutenant Colonel W C L Ratnapala psc, the Commanding Officer of 7 (V) SLAC spoke on ‘Aspects of Tasks Management’ and Major GIDD Dharmaratne RSP USP USACGSC, the Chief Instructor Armoured Corps Training Centre enlightened the audience with Social Etiquettes. The first day of the work shop concluded with evening group activities.

  • 3 ARMOURED REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS CONSTRUCTED A NEW HOUSE FOR ANOTHER NEEDY FAMILY

    As per the Army way forward Strategy 2020-2025, Civil Affairs plays a vital attribute towards the country’s stability and national security. Hence in parallel to this concept, under the direction of the Armoured Brigade, the 3 Armoured Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps built a new house for a needy family at Galkadawala, Anuradhapura, with the consent of Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) along with the financial assistant from Scienter Technologies Pvt Ltd.

  • 23RD ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF ALC HELD AT ROCK HOUSE CAMP

    The Armour Ladies Club (ALC) had its 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 20 March 2022 with the participation of over 70 ladies. The AGM followed a performance of two-minute silence and singing of the ASVU theme song and elected new office-bearers for the year 2022.

  • “KINGS’ CAFE” DECLARED OPENED

    A newly constructed welfare facility complex was declared opened by the Commander Armoured Brigade on 06 January 2022 at Brigade Headquarters premises. The construction project was initiated to expand its welfare facility scope further for all Ranks and inaugurated it as the “KINGS’ CAFE” with the direction and close supervision of Commander Armoured Brigade. This facility complex was upgraded with modern amenities including a welfare shop and cafeteria facilities. Few Officers and Other Ranks from the Regimental Centre and 1st Reconnaissance Regiment also attended the event.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS, TABLET PCS AND BOOKS DONATION PROGARMME

    The Armour Ladies Club (ALC) conducted a brief ceremony to award scholarships and donate medical equipment, TABLET PCs and books for the soldiers’ families on 04 January 2022 at the Rock House Army Camp.

  • SCHOOL ITEMS AND BOOKS DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY ARMOURED BRIGADE

    With the intention of assisting the school education on soldiers’ and civil servants’ children; Headquarters Armoured Brigade organized a school items and book distribution programme at Auditorium - RHQ SLAC on 04 January 2022. The charity event was successfully planned based on the generous patronage of Commander Armoured Brigade and distributed a total no of 60 book packs among the soldiers and civil servants those who serving under Armoured Brigade.
