  • 1ST RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT COMMANDING OFFICER ASSUMED DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel W D S D Wickramaarachchi RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 37th Commanding Officer of the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 24 September 2021 at the Rock House Camp premises.

  • CONDUCTED AFV FIELD FIRING AFTER 10 YEARS

    Armoured Fighting Vehicle (BTR 80 A & BMP MK II) field firing was conducted under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and under the supervision of Commander Armoured Brigade at Sri Lanka Air Force field firing range Kalpitiya on 21 and 22 September 2021. Total of 15 Officers and 130 Other Ranks of Armour Young Officers’ course, Professional AFV Gunner Operator course and Basic Gunner Operator course were participated. Commander Armoured Brigade and the Commandant Armoured Corps Training Centre participated for the event.

  • ARMOURED CORPS BOXER WON A BRONZE MEDAL AT INTERNATIONAL BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Boxer showed his colours in 58th World Military Boxing championship 2021 , organized by International Military Sports Council and excelled during September 16 to 26 held at Moscow Russia. Total of 231 boxers from 36 countries in ten weight categories for men and five for women performed at this tournament.

  • DONATION OF A FOOT ORTHOSIS DEVICE TO A SPECIAL NEED CHILD

    Under the guidance of the President of the Armour Ladies Club (ALC), Dr. (Mrs) Harshani Bothota, a programme was held on 24 September 2021 to donate Artificial Foot Orthosis (AFO) device to a special need child of Trooper Senarathne UGCK of 6 (Rft) Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. Mrs. Shiromi Kamalasiri, member of the ALC took initiatives in donating the device. The symbolic donation was carried out by the President of the ALC.

  • NEW LIBRARY OPENED AT 4 ARMOURED REGIMENT EXTENDING THE KNOWLEDGE BANK OF TANKERS

    The newly constructed library building at 4 Armoured Regiment premises - Clappenburg was vested in the troops of 4 Armoured Regiment at a brief ceremony presided by the Commanding Officer - Lieutenant Colonel D A I J Dalugama USP psc on Monday 30 August 2021.

  • 5 RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT COMMANDING OFFICER ASSUMED DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel W A W T Sujith RWP psc assumed duties as the 14th Commanding Officer of the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment - Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 20 August 2021 at the Pangolla Camp premises.

  • DONATION OF A COMPUTER TO LATE LIEUTENANT GENERAL DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA MEMORIAL LIBRARY

    A computer and accessories worth of Rs. 100,000.00 was donated to Late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa Memorial Library at Armoured Corps Training Centre by Mr. K. Lakumekaran on 13 August 2021. Donation was made on the request of Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the Commandant of Officer Career Development Centre.

  • INTER REGIMENT VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT - 2021

    Inter Regiment Volleyball Tournament - 2021 organized by the 6 Regiment (Rft), Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was held in Morawewa volleyball court. The Commander Armoured Brigade, Brigadier P A M Peiris RSP USP psc graced the finals as the Chief Guest on 11 August 2021.

  • ARMOURED CORPS RECEIVED INFRASTRUCTURE MATERIALS

    With generosity patronage extended by a senior cavalryman - Brigadier P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, 3500 no of gypsum boards have been distributed among all regiments of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in order to uplift the infrastructure facilities, wellbeing and living standards of the Cavalry troops. This idea was generated during the inaugural official visit of under command regiments after assuming duties as the Commander Armoured Brigade on 19 July 2021.

  • WHEELCHAIR DONATION TO A DIFFERENTLY ABLED CHILD

    Armour Ladies Club (ALC) under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, the President of ALC organized a wheelchair donation programme to a differently abled child of Cpl Bandara T S of 1st Reconnaissance Regiment, with the contribution of Mrs. Dulashi Meepagala, the Secretary of the ALC.
