  • ARMOUR LADIES JOINED THE COMBAT AGAINST COVID 19 WITH NEEDY DRY RATIONS

    Armour Ladies have stepped in with their contribution and joined the combat against the Covid 19 pandemic. Under the guidance of Vice President of Army Seva Wanitha Unit cum President Armour Ladies Club Mrs Sheromi Liyanage and its members joined the drive of distributing dry ration packs to the 60 needy families in Hettikattiya Grama Niladhari Division, Kahatagasdigiliya on 21 April 2020.

  • ORGANIZED RELIEF PROGRAMME FOR CIVIL STAFF ATTACHED TO SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    Armour Ladies Club under the patronage of its president Mrs Sheromi Liyanage took initiative to commence a programme to grant Rs. 3,000 each to all civil staff attached to the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps aiming to help those who are affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus sweeping across the country.

  • BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN AT HOME OF ARMOUR

    On the request made by the Blood Bank of Military Hospital members of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in line with the thinking of Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army initiated a blood donation campaign on Thursday (02) at Rock House Army camp. The basic aim of the campaign was to replenish bloodstocks at Military Hospital Narahenpita, considering the prevailing emergency in the wake of looming COVID-19 threat.

  • Basketball Championship goes to 4 AR

    The Inter Unit Basketball Tournament was held at 4 SLAC Clapenburg camp on Monday (16) in the presence of a large gathering, headed by the Commander 221 Brigade Colonel Priyantha Karaiyawasam as the Chief Guest.

  • SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS INTER UNIT DRILL/PACE STICK COMPETITION – 2020

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Inter Unit Drill/Pace Stick Competition 2020 was concluded at Armoured Corps Training Centre (ACTC) - Kalaththawa on 13 March 2020 under the supervision of the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

  • AWARDED PRIZES FOR WINNERS OF THE RAFFLE DRAW 2019

    Prize awarding ceremony for the winners of the Raffle draw 2019 organized by the Armour Ladies Club was held on 15th February 2020 at the Home of Armour. Raffle Draw 2019 was held on 27th December 2019 and twenty two prizes were distributed among the lucky winners during the event.

  • VISIT OF OFFICER CADETS OF SLMA TO HOME OF ARMOUR

    Officer Cadets of Intake 88 from Sri Lanka Military Academy visited Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 12 February 2020. After the warm welcome by the Centre Commandant, Colonel MS Devapriya USP at Cavalry Mess, the officer cadets witness a video presentation about the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. Subsequently, the Officer Cadets had the opportunity to see the Armoured Vehicles and acquire a fair knowledge about the technical data of the Armoued Vehicles of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. General staff officer I of RHQ SLAC and many senior and junior Officers from Regimental Headquarter and Armoured Brigade participated the event.

  • ARMOUR LADIES VISITED INMATES OF ABHIMANSALA III - PANGOLLA

    Armour Ladies visited the inmates of ‘Abhimansala III - Pangolla’, one of the Rehabilitation Centres of Sri Lanka Army on 15 January as the first event of year 2020.

  • 26 Anniversary of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment – Sri Lanka Armoured Corps

    The 26 Anniversary of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment - Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was celebrated on 6 January 2020 at Ironside camp, Pangolla. The Commanding Officer of the Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel DKSM Kariyawasam USP was honoured on the corps day as per the military formalities with a magnificent parade. Trophies were awarded to mark the achievements in the administrative inspection in year 2019 and “A” squadron achieved the Best Outstanding squadron trophy. Anniversary celebrations followed by a tree planting by the Commanding Officer and concluded with an all rank lunch.

  • ARMOURED CORPS TRAINING CENTRE (ACTC) WHICH FORMED ON 1ST JANUARY 1984 CELEBRATED HER 36TH ANNIVERSARY

    Armoured Corps Training Centre (ACTC) which formed on 1st January 1984 celebrated her 36th Anniversary on Wednesday, 1st January, 2020 at ACTC -Kawarakkulama, Galkulama, ANURADHAPURA. ACTC consists with two main Wings as Training Wing & Adminis0tration Wing. Tactical Squadron & Training Support Squadron are established at Kalaththewa Camp and Automotive & Gunnery Wing is located at Kokawil under the Training Wing. The Administration Wing is located at Anuradhapura with all Administrative Institutions.
