  • ARMOUR LADIES CLUB'S VISIT OF “ABIMANSALA III”

    Armour Ladies Club (ALC) visited the 'Abimansala III" accompanied by number of popular artists on 15 August 2020, a wellness resort located in Pangolla-Kurunegala where disabled soldiers of Sri Lanka Army who were wounded-in-action (WIA) are being looked after for their life time. This visit marks as the first official visit of “Abimansala III” by any group after Covid-19 pandemic spread, due to which all visits were suspended. The President of ALC, Mrs. Piumali Thillekerathne and members of ALC welcomed by inmates on their arrival.

  • 3 SLAC & 7(V) SLAC VISITS OF ARMOUR LADIES CLUB

    Armour Ladies Club, (ALC) chaired by Mrs Piumali Thillekerathne conducted the first ALC unit visit of 3 SLAC and 7(V) SLAC on 9 August 2020.

    At the invitation of the Armour Ladies Club, Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and General Officer Commanding 12 Division also joined this noble effort and spent a few hours with those family members.

  • ARMOUR LADIES CLUB PAY TRIBUTE TO FALLEN WAR HERO - LIEUTENANT GENERAL DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA

    Armour Ladies Club under the patronage of its President, Mrs Piumali Thillekerathne, organized a “Bodhi Puja” on 8 August 2020 with the gracious presence of Mrs Laly Kobbekaduwa at Rock House Camp temple premises to invoke blessing on the fallen war hero Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa on his 28th death anniversary.

  • 6TH(RFT) REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS WON INTER UNIT SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

    The Inter Unit Soccer Championship was held at 4 SLAC Clapenburg camp on 1st and 2nd of August in glamourous expose. The Commander 221 Brigade Brigadier Priyantha Karaiyawasam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded certificates and trophies to the winners.

  • WORKSHOP ON SERVICE ETIQUETTES

    Under the guidance of the President Armour Ladies Club (ALC), Mrs Piumali Thillekerathne and coordinated by a member of Ladies Club, Mrs Shyamali Siriwardana, a workshop on “Service Etiquettes” was conducted for staff of the “Cavalry Mess” and Officers’ Mess staff of SLAC units.

  • WHEEL CHAIR FOR ANOTHER WARRIOR

    Armour Ladies Club organized a Wheel Chair donation programme with the guidance of Mrs Samangka Fernando and sponsorship of Mrs Nimmi Dissanayake for Corporal Fernando WDLP (1 SLAC) who got wounded due to claymore attack in Mannar. The handing over ceremony was held on 11 July 2020 at the Rock House.

  • THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE OF SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS HELD COMMANDING OFFICERS’ CONFERENCE

    The Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps held the Commanding Officers’ Conference at Rock House camp on 2 July 2020. The meeting was presided by the Centre Commandant - Brigadier M S Devapriya USP. The Deputy Centre Commandant, The Commandant Armoured Corps Training Centre, Grade I Staff Officers of Regimental Centre and all Commanding Officers were present at the meeting and discuss the all relevant unit matters.

  • ARMOUR LADIES JOINED THE COMBAT AGAINST COVID 19 WITH NEEDY DRY RATIONS

    Armour Ladies have stepped in with their contribution and joined the combat against the Covid 19 pandemic. Under the guidance of Vice President of Army Seva Wanitha Unit cum President Armour Ladies Club Mrs Sheromi Liyanage and its members joined the drive of distributing dry ration packs to the 60 needy families in Hettikattiya Grama Niladhari Division, Kahatagasdigiliya on 21 April 2020.

  • ORGANIZED RELIEF PROGRAMME FOR CIVIL STAFF ATTACHED TO SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    Armour Ladies Club under the patronage of its president Mrs Sheromi Liyanage took initiative to commence a programme to grant Rs. 3,000 each to all civil staff attached to the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps aiming to help those who are affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus sweeping across the country.
