    Another round of the officers’ training day programme was organized at the Rock House Camp on 16 January 2018 under the supervision of Commander Armoured Brigade, Brigadier A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc at SLAC Auditorium.

    Maj Gen K A D A Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Chief of the Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Arrived at Home of Armourâ to attend the final day of Administrative Inspection on 17 August 2017. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Colonel GD Sooriyabandara, the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. Before commenced the proceedings, Chief of Staff of the Army stressed the importance of conducting annual administrative inspection as it would help to overcome all administrative issues at Regiments and units level. Director Generals, Directors and Staff Officers of Army Headquarters, Staff Officers of Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and Commanding Officers of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps were among the gathering.

    Maj Gen K A D A Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Chief of the Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Arrived at Home of Armour to attend the final day of Administrative Inspection on 17 August 2017. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Colonel GD Sooriyabandara, the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.   • 58th REGIMENTAL COUNCIL OF SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps held 58th Regimental Council meeting at the Rock House camp on 31st August 2017. The meeting was presided by Maj Gen S D T LiyanageWWV RWP ndc psc, Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

  • NEW CRICKET GEARS FOR SLAC CRICKETERS

    Brig ALPS Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc - Commander Armoured Brigade handed over cricket gears worth of Rs: 50,000.00 from Armoured Brigade sports fund to Lt Col NRL Gunasena psc - Commanding Officer 1St Reconnaissance Regiment who is in charge of SLAC Cricket Team, and expressed that he believed SLAC Cricket Team will bring glory to the Corps. The Brigade staff officers and few members of the cricket team also were presented at the occasion.

  • SLAC CLINCHED THE ARMY INTER REGIMENT BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - 2017

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corpsa Basketball team was crowned as Champions in Inter Regiment Basketball Championship 2017 held at the Army Sport Complex, Panagoda on 23rd September 2017. SLAC team beat the Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment Basketball team. The best player of the tournament was Tpr Malith Fernando from Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

  • ARMOUR LIVE FIRING CONDUCTED AFTER FIVE YEARS

    Armour live firing session was conducted to the Armour Contingent supposed to operate in Mali under United Nations Peace Keeping Missions in MALI in near future (MINUSMA). It is a great opportunity that has accomplished the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps after 5 years on live firing of armoured vehicles (BTR 80 A). The firing sessions conducted at the Sri Lanka Air Force Field Firing range at KALPITIYA under the direction command Armoured Brigade of Brig A L P S Tillekerathna RWP RSP USP psc, on 02 and 03rd October 2017.\r\nSri Lanka Army Dte of Ops, Dte of Trg and Sri Lanka Air Force Detachment at KALPITIYA; Kandakuliya, made huge contribution to success this remarkable event.

  • ALL RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES WERE TERMINATED

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps will celebrate its 62nd anniversary on 15th Dec 2017. Prior to this event, multi religious ceremonies were held in order to invoke blessings on the Regiment, Religious activities were commenced with the whole night Pirith Chanting held on 29th November 2017 followed by an alms giving (Dhanaya) on 30 November at Rock House. Christian Mass was held at St. Andrew's Church at Modara on 01st Dec 2017. Afterwards, Hindu and Muslim religious ceremonies were held at Sri Venkateshwarar Kovil at Modara and Al Jumma Mosque at Mutwal respectively on 04th Dec 2017.

  • COMMEMORATION CEREMONY OF FALLEN ARMOUR WAR HEROES AT ANURADHAPURA

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps organized a commemoration ceremony on 05 December 2017 to pay tribute to the fallen Armour war heroes. The commemoration ceremony was held at Armour War Heroes Monument located at the Armoured Corps Training Centre, Kalattewa, Anuradhapura. It is a noble and remarkable event organized by the Regiment in each year as a tradition prior to the Corps Day with participation of family members of fallen war heroes of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.
