In line with the conceptual thinking of Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps built a new house cost of Rs 1.5 million for WO I DJ Sumedha – 5 SLAC. Project was sponsored by both Army HQ and RHQ SLAC and under the supervision and efforts of the troops of 5 SLAC. Annual Book donation programme for the school children of the soldiers and civil staff of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment - SLAC was held on 30 December 2020 at Ironside camp premises while adhering to the COVID-19 prevention health guidelines. Lt Col D K S M Kariyawasam USP, the Commanding Officer of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment and Mrs Anusha Kariyawasam graced the event. The Commanding Officer and the Armour Ladies who were present at the occasion paid a visit to the residence of late Cpl Rangana GG RWP to hand over book packs to his children giving an additional significance to the occasion.

6 Regiment SLAC initiated a book donation programme for the year of 2021 for the school children of soldiers and civil staff of the unit line. Adhering to the health guidelines of COVID – 19, the function was held on 28 December 2020.The event was graced by the Commanding Officer of 6 Regiment SLAC Lieutenant Colonel R H A Hennadi RSP psc and Armour Ladies Club team leader of 6 SLAC Mrs. Sandya Hennadi with the participation of Officers, soldiers and the civil staff of the unit.

4 Armoured Regiment initiated a book donation programme 2020 for school children of the soldiers and civil staff of the unit line. In compliance with strict COVID – 19 health guidelines, a short ceremony was held on 30 November 2020 to signify the programme. The event was graced by the Commanding Officer - 4 Armoured Regiment Lieutenant Colonel D A I J Dalugama USP psc and was attended by unit officers, cross section of soldiers and civil staff.

Sri Lanka Armoured Corps organized a commemoration ceremony on 27 November 2020 to pay tribute to the fallen Armour war heroes along with 65th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. The commemoration ceremony was held at Armour War Heroes Monument located at Kalattawa, Anuradhapura while adhering all stipulated guidelines to prevent COVID 19 pandemic. It is a noble and remarkable event organized by the Regiment each year in order to honour fallen war heroes prior to the Corps Day celebrations.

Armour Ladies Club (ALC) has organized a book donation programme for 19 children studying in GonaganaraVidyalaya - Buttala on 03 October 2020 in celebrating "World Children's Day". Those students are from low income earning families and in need of help to continue their education. Many ALC members and civil sponsors have contributed with stationeries / scholarship for this worthy effort.

Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc, paid a official visit to the Armoured Corps Training Centre in Kalaththewa on 29 September 2020. On the arrival, Colonel Commandant was accorded with a Guard Turnout by the troops and warmly welcomed by the Commandant Armoured Corps Training Centre, Colonel M W A R C Wijesuriya RSP USP. Afterwards, he was briefed by the Commandant on the training and administrative process of ACTC. Commander Armoured Brigade Brigadier M G T D Rathnasekara USP, General Staff Officer I - RHQ SLAC Lt Col W A I S Mendis RSP USP and Staff Officer I (Log) - RHQ SLAC Lt Col T S R Perera were also attended for the visit.

The 4 Armoured Regiment, raised in September 1991 as the most formidable tank unit to be reckoned with, is 29 years old on Thursday (24 September 2020). The Anniversary celebrations of mighty tankers commenced with a string of commemorative activities including multi-religious observances starting from 13 to 20 September. Showcasing glamour and pride in grand scale, the Anniversary day was commemorated with a Guard Turnout and a Parade offered to the Commanding Officer Lt Col D A I J Dalugama USP psc, and was followed by a tree sapling planting. The day’s proceedings concluded with All Ranks Lunch.
