    Under the guidance of Maj Gen S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant SLAC, an Officers Training Day and a Diners Club sessions were successfully conducted on Monday, 11 June 2024, at the Home of Armour. The event saw active participation from SLAC officers, including those on extra regimental employments, and was coordinated by the Armoured Brigade.

  • 7TH VOLUNTEER REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS COMMEMORATES ITS 26TH ANNIVERSARY

    The 7th Volunteer regiment - SLAC celebrated its 26th anniversary with many events at camp premises. The day began with a guard turnout and a grand parade, displaying the regiment's military traditions and discipline. The Commanding Officer planted a tree, symbolizing growth and a sustainable future. An all-rank group photograph captured the solidarity among the troops adding memories to the unit history. A commemorative event honored the war heroes, reminding everyone of the bravery and sacrifices made to the sovereignty of the nation. The celebrations concluded with an all-ranks lunch, fostering unity and mutual respect. The anniversary events highlighted the regiment's proud legacy and commitment to its values.

The commemoration not only honoured the courageous officers and soldiers who served but also reflected on the regiment's significant contributions to safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and peace.

  • CHANGE OF COMMAND AT 6 REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    The passing of command within the 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps exemplifies the rich traditions and formalities inherent in military transitions. Lt Col L B S U K Liyanagedara's assumption of the role of Commanding Officer on 13 May 2024, marked the commencement of a new chapter for the regiment. The formal ceremony, complete with a Guard Turnout and religious observances, underscored the significance of the occasion as Lt Col Sampath Liyanagedara officially took on his duties, planting a sapling to symbolize growth and renewal within the unit.

  • “PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELING” WORKSHOP AT 5 SLAC

    As per the direction of Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, 5 Reconnissance Regiment organized a visiting lecture in the field of “Psychology & Counseling”. Mrs Nirmali Wijekoon, the Senior psychologist of Emjay International Pvt Ltd (group) conducted the valuable lecture in very interesting way with her vast knowledge & experience. All ranks of Ironside Camp, Pangolla, physically participated in the lecture while others were facilitated to join the lecture via google meet.

  • UPGRADED FACILITIES FOR A & B SQUADRONS OF 6 (RFT) SLAC & INAGURATES AT THAULWEWA

    With the visionary leadership of Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, and the meticulous supervision of Brigadier Y H P Rangajeewa USP, the Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, two squadrons are being colocated and deployed at Thaulwewa in a better logistic environment.Inauguration ceremony took place at the Thawulwewa Army Camp (Gomarankadawala) premises on 03 May 2024 with the presence of GOC 22 Division as the Chief Guest.
