  • 89TH REGIMENTAL COUNCIL MEETING

    The 89th Regimental Council Meeting of the SLAC for the second quarter of 2026 was successfully held on 04 May 2026 at the Regimental Centre. The meeting was presided over by Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLAC.

  • FELICITATION CEREMONY FOR NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERAL

    The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps hosted a dignified felicitation on 04 May 2026 at the Home of Armour to mark the promotion of Major General L W S R Wettasinghe. In the history of SLAC, he became the first senior officer of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, representing the Volunteer Force, to be elevated to the rank of Major General, an achievement that stands as a proud milestone for both the Regiment and the Volunteer Force alike.

  • NEW HOUSE HANDED OVER TO CIVIL STAFF MEMBER UNDER WELFARE INITIATIVE

    The troops of the 4 Armoured Regiment successfully completed the construction of a new house for Mr. A K Thamyith, a civil staff member of the Regiment, as part of an ongoing welfare initiative focused on improving the living conditions and overall well-being of its personnel and their families. This project was carried out under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel P S Liyanage RSP USP, Commanding Officer of the 4 Armoured Regiment and under the patronage of the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

  • BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN CONDUCTED BY 6 (RFT) SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    A blood donation campaign was successfully conducted on 28 March 2026 by the 6 (Rft) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, inspired by the initiative of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. The programme was carried out with the assistance of the Blood Transfusion Unit of the Trincomalee General Hospital.

  • EYE CLINIC PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY THE ARMOUR LADIES CLUB IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 42ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARMOURED CORPS TRAINING CENTRE

    An Eye Clinic Programme was successfully conducted on 08 January 2026 under the guidance of the Armour Ladies Club, in conjunction with the 42nd Anniversary of the Armoured Corps Training Centre. The programme reflected the Armour Ladies Club’s compassionate commitment to community welfare by providing essential eye care services to the civil community. The event was graced by Mrs. Sumangali Pathiravithana, President of the Armour Ladies Club, as the Chief Guest.

  • FELICITATION TO NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS

    The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps held a dignified felicitation ceremony on 31 December 2025 to honour its newly promoted Major Generals. Major General D K R N Silva RSP USP psc was honored as the 49th Major General of the Corps, while Major General K G M N Senevirathne USP was honored as the 50th Major General of the Corps. In keeping with the proud traditions of the Corps, both senior officers were accorded a Guard Turnout followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour, reflecting the esteem in which they are held and their distinguished service to the Army and the nation.

  • REGIMENTAL CENTRE MARKS THE APPOINTMENT OF NEW CENTRE COMMANDANT

    11th December 2025 15:00:00 Hours

    Brigadier S J Samarasinghe psc officially assumed duties as the Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, on 11 December 2025. The programme commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by the formal taking over of duties at the Centre Commandant’s Office amidst religious blessings. To mark this significant occasion, a tree sapling was also planted within the camp premises, symbolizing growth and continuity.
