89TH REGIMENTAL COUNCIL MEETING

The 89th Regimental Council Meeting of the SLAC for the second quarter of 2026 was successfully held on 04 May 2026 at the Regimental Centre. The meeting was presided over by Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLAC.

The council was graced by the presence of all members, including nine Major Generals, the highest number of two star generals ever to convene in the history of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, reflecting the distinguished stature and growing prominence of the Regiment.

During the council meeting, several important matters concerning the future development and administrative progress of the Corps were deliberated. Particular attention was given to initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare, professional standards and overall betterment of the SLAC.
