Sri Lanka Armoured Corps presented a military honour and warm greetings to the newly promoted Major General W P Kariyawasam, during a formal ceremony held on 02 November 2023 at the Regimental Centre, Rock House Camp.

The Regimental Centre SLAC felicitated the recently promoted Senior Officer of SLAC, Brigadier L S D N Pathiratna RSP USP, Commander 241 Infantry Brigade on 24 October 2023. In keeping with military traditions he was honoured with guard turnout at the entrance and followed with a courtesy call by the Colonel Commandant at his office.

As per the directions given by the Colonel Commandant, the Armoured Corps Training Centre successfully conducted the ‘Par Excellence Workshop’ for the young officers in the regiment. 19 x young officers participated in this five-day workshop, which was conducted from 16 Oct 23 to 20 Oct 23. It includes lectures on Officering, Regimentation, Discipline, Social Etiquette, Leadership, Officers Career Progression and Sri Lankan War History. Lectures were conducted by the Commandant - ACTC, CO 1 SLAC, CO 3 SLAC, CO 4 SLAC, CI - ACTC, SO (2) - RHQ SLAC and 2IC - 7 SLAC. Mess Night was held as the last event of the workshop, with Maj Gen W P Kariyawasam as the chief guest. The Centre Commandant, the Commander - Armoured Brigade, CO 3 SLAC and CO 7 SLAC attended the Mess Night as the invitees.
