    In a momentous celebration of valour and unity, all regiments of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps celebrated 15th Anniversary of Victory Day on 18 and 19 May 2024. The commemoration not only honoured the courageous officers and soldiers who served but also reflected on the regiment's significant contributions to safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and peace.

  • CHANGE OF COMMAND AT 6 REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

    The passing of command within the 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps exemplifies the rich traditions and formalities inherent in military transitions. Lt Col L B S U K Liyanagedara's assumption of the role of Commanding Officer on 13 May 2024, marked the commencement of a new chapter for the regiment. The formal ceremony, complete with a Guard Turnout and religious observances, underscored the significance of the occasion as Lt Col Sampath Liyanagedara officially took on his duties, planting a sapling to symbolize growth and renewal within the unit.

  • “PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELING” WORKSHOP AT 5 SLAC

    As per the direction of Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, 5 Reconnissance Regiment organized a visiting lecture in the field of “Psychology & Counseling”. Mrs Nirmali Wijekoon, the Senior psychologist of Emjay International Pvt Ltd (group) conducted the valuable lecture in very interesting way with her vast knowledge & experience. All ranks of Ironside Camp, Pangolla, physically participated in the lecture while others were facilitated to join the lecture via google meet.

  • UPGRADED FACILITIES FOR A & B SQUADRONS OF 6 (RFT) SLAC & INAGURATES AT THAULWEWA

    With the visionary leadership of Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, and the meticulous supervision of Brigadier Y H P Rangajeewa USP, the Commander 223 Infantry Brigade, two squadrons are being colocated and deployed at Thaulwewa in a better logistic environment.Inauguration ceremony took place at the Thawulwewa Army Camp (Gomarankadawala) premises on 03 May 2024 with the presence of GOC 22 Division as the Chief Guest.

  • SLAC INTER REGIMENT DRILL/ PACE STICK COMPETITION - 2024 HELD AT ACTC

    The awarding ceremony of the Inter Unit Drill/ Pace Stick Competition - 2024 of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps got underway at Armoured Corps Training Centre, Kalaththewa on 03 May, headed by Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, Commander Armoured Brigade.

    The final tussle of the SLAC Inter Regiment Elle Tournament – 2024 organized by 7th (V) Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, held at Vidyartha College Thibbatuwewa - Kekirawa on 24 and 25 April 2024, pushed 3rd Armoured Regiment players to a resounding victory beating the rival, 1st Reconnaissance Regiment.

  • CAVALRY BOXERS BROUGHT GLORY TO ARMOURED CORPS CHANGING SRI LANKA ARMY BOXING HISTORY

    For the first time in the SLAC history Cavalry Boxers emerge as the overall Champions in Army Inter Regiment Boxing 2024, held at the APTS Panagoda Indoor Stadium from 07 to 10 April 2024, claiming 3 x Gold, 2 x Silver, and 3 x Bronze Medals.

  • 6 SLAC HEARTWARMING GESTURE: HANDING OVER A NEW HOUSE TO A CIVILIAN

    In accordance with the noble vision of GOC 22 Inf Div Maj Gen P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, with the generous financial assistance of Mr. Anuradha Kothalawala (Doner), the foundation stone for a new house was laid on 12 January 2024. This initiative aimed to provide a new house for Mr. Chaminda Kumara, a resident of Kithuluthuwa, Morawewa.
