  • NEW COMMANDING OFFICER OF 4 ARMOURED REGIMENT, SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS ASSUMES OFFICE

    The newly appointed Commanding officer of 4 Armoured Regiment – Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Lt Col D A I J Dalugama USP psc assumed duties as the 17 Commanding Officer at the Clappenburg Camp, Chinabay on 11 November 2019.

  • VISITS OF ARMOUR LADIES TO HOUSE CONSTRUCTION SITES

    Under the guidance of the President Armour Ladies Club, Mrs Sheromi Liyanage provided monetary assistance worth of Rs 680,000.00 to Cpl Gunawardena BS - 6 SLAC and Cpl Indika Kumara RPL - 4 SLAC to complete construction works of their houses. The President and members of Armour Ladies Club visited both constructed houses at Kurunegala and Kadugannawa on 13 November 2019 in order to witness completed construction works. The events were held with simple ceremonies and during the programme, Armour Ladies gifted essential items required for day to day life of occupants.

  • VISIT OF INMATES AT ABHIMANSALA - 2 KAMBURUPITIYA TO JAFFNA

    Dependent War Heroes, residing at the ‘Abhimansala - 2’ wellness resort at Kamburupitiya, Matara were taken on a visit to historical and religious sites in Anuradhapura, Mannar, Jaffna and Mullaithivu for 4 days from 25 October 2019 to 28 October 2019.

  • CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD AT ROCK HOUSE ARMY CAMP

    Coincide with World Children’s Day, Armour Ladies Club organized a Children’s Day programme at 05 October 2019 at Regimental Centre – Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. The programme commenced with the fruitful lecture conducted by the Mrs Wasanthi Rajapaksha, former senior member of the Armour Ladies Club Cum Psychological counsilor at Brandix.

  • VISIT AT ‘ABHIMANSALA 2’ BY ARMOUR LADIES CLUB

    The President Mrs Sheromi Liyanage and members of the Armour Ladies Club have visited the ‘Abhimansala 2 - Kamburupitiya’, one of the Rehabilitation Centres of Sri Lanka Army on 13 September 2019. Day began with the visit to all war heroes who are undergoing rehabilitation and ladies took time to interact and distribute gifts amongst them.

  • A TRIBUTE TO FALLEN WAR HEROES

    Armour Ladies Club under the patronage of its president Mrs Sheromi Liyanage organized a get-together with families of fallen war heroes living in Rathnapura District on 28 August 2019 at Ananda Maitreya Sanga Raja Viharaya, Rathnapura. Day began with the religious programme conducted in order to transfer merits to the souls of the fallen War Heroes and invoke blessing on all serving Officers/ Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army and all family members.

  • WELFARE PROGRAMME FOR FAMILIES OF KIA SOLDIERS

    Armour Ladies organized a get-together with families of fallen war heroes living in Galle, Matara, and Hambantota districts at 3rd Gamunu Watch, Matara on 03 August 2019. After sermon of bana in order to transfer merits to the souls of the fallen war heroes and invoke blessings for their family members, an interaction session was held to ascertain the grievances of war hero families. This session was followed by a lunch.

  • Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Clinches the Army Inter Regiment Cricket Championship 2019

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps emerged Champions of the Army 'A' Division Cricket during the finals held on 26 July 2019 at Panagoda beating the Sri Lanka Artillery team by 8 wickets.

  • ARMOUR LADIES JOIN THE DRIVE OF REFORESTATION PROJECT AT WILPATHTHU

    Armour ladies joined the ‘Thuruliya Wenuwen Api' reforestation project initiated by the Sri Lanka Army at Wilpattu Forest Reserve area. The President of Armour Ladies Club Mrs Sheromi Liyanage and other members symbolically planted few saplings around the Marichchakaddi area and handed over 300 environmental friendly saplings of rare species such as Kumbuk, Mee, Magosa, Mahogany, etc to be planted in Wilpattu Forest Reserve.

  • ARMOUR LADIES CLUB ORGANIZED A REMEMBRANCE MASS FOR VICTIMS OF EASTER SUNDAY ATTACK

    A special memorial mass organized by the Armour Ladies Club was held on 21 May 2019 at St. Andrews' Church – Modara to remember the victims of 21st April suicide attacks.
