  • SLAC FELICITATES NEWLY PROMOTED SENIOR OFFICER

    The Regimental Centre SLAC felicitated the recently promoted Senior Officer of SLAC, Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, Commander 663 Infantry Brigade on 21 February 2023. In keeping with military traditions he was honoured with guard turnout at the entrance and followed with a courtesy call by the Colonel Commandant at his office

  • SCHOOL ITEMS AND BOOKS DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY ARMOURED BRIGADE

    Align to the guidance of President - ALC, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, with the intention of encouraging the education of soldiers’ and civil servants’ children; Headquarters Armoured Brigade organised a school items and books distribution programme at Auditorium - Regimental Centre SLAC on 03 March 2023. The charity event was successfully planned based on the generous patronage of Brigadier Priyantha Kariyawasam, the Commander Armoured Brigade and distributed a total number of 132 book packs among the soldiers and civil servants who serve under Armoured Brigade.

  • 4 ARMOURED REGIMENT CLINCHED CHAMPIONS OF INTER UNIT BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

    The reigning basketball champions, 4 Armoured Regiment Basketball team secured the victory for the fourth consecutive year of the Inter Unit Basketball Championship after dominating the rival, 1st Reconnaissance Regiment by 88 : 42 points as the finals drew up to the closure at the Clappenburg court on 07 March 2023.

  • FIRST EVER COLOURS NIGHT OF SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS HISTORY UNFOLDS

    Sri Lanka Armoured Corps ceremonially conducted its first ever Colours Night on 20 February 2023. The event was held at the Faculty of Graduate Studies main auditorium at KDU with the gracious participation of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu as the chief guest.

    The event was organised under the guidance of Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Commander SFHQ (J) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC to appreciate the sports talents and skills displayed by all Ranks of SLAC from its inception.

  • REGIMENTAL CENTRE SLAC DISTRIBUTES BOOKS TO CHILDREN OF REGIMENTAL STAFF AND CIVIL STAFF

    With the guidance of President of ALC, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, children of regimental staff and civil staff at Regimental Centre SLAC were presented with books and stationary items on 14 February 2023 at the auditorium of Rock House camp.

  • ARMOUR LADIES VISIT ‘MIHINDU SETH MADURA - ATHTHIDIYA

    Having noble intention to uplift the spirits of our differently-abled war heroes and to look in to their well-being, Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Commander SFHQ (J) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, the Chairperson of Armour Ladies Club, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota and fellow members together with several Senior Officers visited the ‘Mihindu Seth Madura’, wellness resort - Aththidiya on 28 January 2023. The day's event unfolded with ward visit followed by offering of delectable snack and donation of a 32" LED TV and gifts packs to inmates. After the visit, the inmates were entertained with a musical programme.

  • LADIES CLUB OF 6 SLAC DISTRIBUTES BOOKS TO CHILDREN OF SOLDIERS AT UNIT

    Armoured Corps Training Centre celebrated its 39th anniversary by organizing a series of events on 01 January 2023 at camp premises, Kalattewa. Colonel W A I S Mendis RSP USP, the Commandant ACTC graced the anniversary day events as the Chief Guest.

  • 5TH RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT CELEBRATES ITS 29TH ANNIVERSARY

    The 5th Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps celebrated its 29th anniversary on 06 January 2023 at the Ironside Camp premises. The celebrations began on 31 December 2022 with all-night pirith chanting and the following day almsgiving to Maha Sanga.
