  • ARMOUR LADIES VISIT ‘MIHINDU SETH MADURA - ATHTHIDIYA

    Having noble intention to uplift the spirits of our differently-abled war heroes and to look in to their well-being, Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Commander SFHQ (J) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, the Chairperson of Armour Ladies Club, Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota and fellow members together with several Senior Officers visited the ‘Mihindu Seth Madura’, wellness resort - Aththidiya on 28 January 2023. The day's event unfolded with ward visit followed by offering of delectable snack and donation of a 32" LED TV and gifts packs to inmates. After the visit, the inmates were entertained with a musical programme.

  • 39TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE ARMOURED CORPS TRAINING CENTRE

    Armoured Corps Training Centre celebrated its 39th anniversary by organizing a series of events on 01 January 2023 at camp premises, Kalattewa. Colonel W A I S Mendis RSP USP, the Commandant ACTC graced the anniversary day events as the Chief Guest.

  • 5TH RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT CELEBRATES ITS 29TH ANNIVERSARY

    The 5th Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps celebrated its 29th anniversary on 06 January 2023 at the Ironside Camp premises. The celebrations began on 31 December 2022 with all-night pirith chanting and the following day almsgiving to Maha Sanga.

    Major General W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division in Mannar on 30 December 2022 amidst religious and traditional military formalities.

  • 67TH ANNIVERSARY OFFICERS’ GET-TOGETHER OF THE SLAC

    The Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Armoured Corps hosted the 67th Anniversary Officers’ Get-together at Cavalry Mess, Rock House camp on 23 December 2022. Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, the Colonel Commandant SLAC and the Commander Security Forces Headquarters-JAFFNA graced the event as the Chief Guest. Both retired and serving, Senior Officers and Officers along with their spouses participated in this gathering and shared many happy moments amidst various entertaining sessions making it more colourful and memorable.

    Colonel W A I S Mendis RSP USP, the newly appointed Commandant ACTC assumed duties on Thursday, 22 December 2022. The newly appointed Commandant ACTC was warmly welcomed and honoured with a guard turnout on his arrival at the entrance.

  • ARMOURED YOUNG OFFICERS’ COURSE 32 ENDS

    The closing ceremony of the Armour Young Officers’ Course (YOC) - 32 got underway at ACTC auditorium on 18 December 2022. Lieutenant D A G S N Karunarathna 5 SLAC showcasing an outstanding performance secured first place and a token of appreciation was presented to him by Lieutenant Colonel D K S M Kariyawasam USP, the Overlooking Commandant ACTC.

    The Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps hosted a colourful farewell parade for one of its proud cavaliers, Brigadier M A Izadeen RSP, the former Commandant, Ranaviru Apparel Yakkala who was to retire after 34 years of illustrious career.
