In the last few days, 4536 milk powder packets were donated by Fonterra Brands Lanka Company Ltd. to low-income families living under 13 divisional secretariat areas in Colombo District, in combination with the Green Agriculture Operation Centre and Security Forces Headquarters (West).

The patronage extended by Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army enabled the Security Force Headquarters - West to give away gift packs, each worth more than Rs 2000.00, inclusive of school equipment and essential items to 50 students studying at Pitipana Primary School in Homagama on 05 December 2023 at the school premises.

The first-day programme of Security Forces Headquarters (West)-2023 commenced on 02 January 2023, with a monthly flag hoisting ceremony and the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, together with the Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Security Forces (West), Brigadier D A Amarasekara USP hoisted the National flag and the Army flag respectively. Similarly, the national anthem and the Army song were played. Then there was a two-minute silence in honour of all fallen war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland.
