Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), conducted official visits to the Army Base Hospital, Panagoda, and the 1st Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on November 20.
Upon his arrival at the Army Base Hospital, Major General Lanka Amarapala was greeted with a ceremonial drive-past and warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Major P G J Rohotha, RSP SLAMC. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion, followed by a detailed briefing on the hospital's mission, current operations, and ongoing projects. During his visit, Major General Lanka Amarapala visited the hospital premises, engaged with staff members, and assessed the facility's operational readiness and capabilities. Before departing, he signed the Visitors’ Book, commending the hospital's team for their dedication and service.
At his second destination, Major General Lanka Amarapala was received with a ceremonial drive-past. Major K. M. T. R. Ulapane USP psc ato SLAOC, extended a formal welcome and provided an in-depth briefing on the battalion’s role, responsibilities, and operational commitments. The Commander inspected the Battalion Headquarters and addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the Army's dignity, upholding self-discipline, and fostering integrity in both professional and personal conduct. He also highlighted the significance of adapting to current societal developments and encouraged unwavering dedication to their duties. The visit concluded with Major General Lanka Amarapala signing the Visitors’ Book to express his gratitude and recognition for the battalion’s efforts.
Accompanying the Commander Security Forces (West) during the visits were Brigadier B P G K Balasooriya RSP psc, the Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier H M S I Senarath, the Logistics Commander SFHQ (West), and Brigadier K L Munasinghe USP, the Brigadier Admin & Quartering.
