  • WEST TROOPS PROVIDED TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCED TO SCHOOL CHILDREN AT MALWANA – GAMPAHA

    Malwana-Bandarawatta road in Gampaha District, under 141 Infantry Brigade, which belongs to Security Forces (West) AOR, was flooded and submerged under 3 feet of water on 07 September 2022 due to heavy rainfall. Therefore, students who are studying at Al Mubarak School in Malwana have found it difficult to go to school as well as the people living in that area have found it difficult to carry out their day-to-day activities.

    As per the direction given by the Directorate of Operations, troops serving in both 14 and 61 Infantry Divisions of the Security Forces (West) launched a Dengue Prevention programme in parallel to the ongoing island-wide National Dengue epidemic Prevention Campaign during 1 -3 September 2022 covering Colombo, Gampaha, Kegalle, Kaluthara, Galle Districts after many cases were reported.

    14 (V) Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW) troops of 613 Infantry Brigade under 61 Infantry Division launched a beach cleaning project along the popular Galle Fort beach which was littered with discarded wrappers, polythene, plastic bottles, empty beer cans, empty liquor bottles, etc. on 02 September 2022.
