    Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc, General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division hand in hand with members of the Hotel Owners Association in Hikkaduwa directed his Division. troops to launch a beach cleaning campaign with battalion troops, tourists, environmentalists and all stakeholders in an attempt to encourage tourism industry in the Hikkaduwa area on 17 November 2022 morning hours.

    A request made by the Disaster Management Centre –Colombo, a contingent of Army personnel from 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) to assist in clearing bamboo bushes that stuck on a pillar of the ‘Podi Palama’ that was built across the Kelani River in Nawagamuwa and Mapitigama on 12 November 2022.

    Under the supervision of Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K M V Kodituwakku, Army personnel of the 10 Sri Lanka National Guard, under the 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West), launched a blood donation project at Abinawaramaya temple, Akuregoda on 03 November 2022 in line with the 32 battalion anniversary of the 10 Sri Lanka National Guard.
