  • 16TH BATTALION GAJABA REGIMENT CONDUCTED A DONATION PROGRAM

    A significant donation program was conducted on 20th December 2024 to support 18 residents of the “Nirmala Maatha” Senior Citizens’ Home, located in the Wanathavilluwa Divisional Secretariat Division in the Puttalam District. This compassionate initiative was organized under the guidance of the Commander of the 57 Infantry Division and the close supervision of Brigadier K A D T P Wimalasena RWP RSP, the Commander 143 Infantry Brigade.

  • DONATION CEREMONY OF ESSENTIAL SCHOOL SUPPLIES

    A program to distribute school supplies worth Rs. 1,80,000 was conducted on 18th December 2024, for 42 students from the Karuwalagaswewa Sri Wimaladharma Preschool and 15 students from the Thabbowa Sri Vijaya Preschool in the Puttalam District.

  • PROGRAM TO PLANT 10,000 MANGROVE TREES IN KALPITIYA AMOTHATTAM AREA

    A significant environmental initiative was undertaken on 13th December 2024 in the Kalpitiya, Amothattam area of the Puttalam District. Spearheaded by the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K A D T P Wimalasena RWP RSP, and coordinated with the support of Linea Aqua Pvt. (Ltd), the program saw the successful planting of 10,000 mangrove saplings.

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) HOSTS A PSYCHOLOGICAL LECTURE ON MOTIVATING SOLDIERS THROUGH MILITARY LITERATURE

    In an effort to nurture the morale and intellectual growth of military personnel, a lecture on “Motivating Soldiers Through Military Literature” was held under the direction of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West). This thought-provoking session took place on 18th December 2024, at the 4th Sri Lanka Artillery Lecture Hall, and was aimed at strengthening the knowledge, mindset, and professional outlook of Officers and Other Ranks within the Security Forces (West).

  • 61 INFANTRY DIVISION VEHICLE SERVICE STATION INAUGURATED

    Under the prompt action and guidance of the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, the upgraded Vehicle Service Station at the Headquarters of the 61 Infantry Division was officially inaugurated on Monday, 16 December 2024.

  • EMERGENCY FIRE REHEARSAL CONDUCTED AT KERAWALAPITIYA OIL TERMINAL

    Under the guidance of Brigadier R R De S Dharmawickrema RSP the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, an emergency fire response rehearsal was successfully conducted at the Kerawalapitiya Petroleum Storage Terminals on 13 December 2024. The event was jointly organized by troops of the 141 Infantry Brigade and officials from the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL).

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) HOSTS A LECTURE ON THE CURRENT ISSUES OF DANGEROUS DRUGS USE IN SRI LANKA

    The Security Forces Headquarters (West) organized an impactful lecture series and practical sessions in parallel with the Training Day Programme, under the conceptual guidance of the Commander of Security Forces (West), Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc. The Programme aimed at enhancing awareness and fostering education among the troops, was conducted by two distinguished professionals. Mr. I M C P Karunarathne, the Media Spokesman and Education/Information Officer of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (Ministry of Public Security) and Counseling Psychologist, Mrs. S Nilmini Abeysekara The sessions held at the lecture hall of 4th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 12 December 2024.
