  • 22 GAJABA REGIMENT RESTORES WATER FLOW AT KADUPITI OYA

    Kadupiti Oya, which supplies water to the Nelumpokuna Water Purification Plant, was disrupted by soil and debris, reducing the water supply. Responding swiftly, troops of the 22 Gajaba Regiment cleared the dam area in Madampe. After two days of continuous effort, the obstruction was removed, restoring normal water flow to the treatment plant.

  • QUICK REACTION TEAM (QRT) TRAINING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

    In line with the vision of the Commander of the Army, a comprehensive Quick Reaction Team (QRT) training programme was launched under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (West). The first phase of the programme commenced on 24 November 2025 and was conducted by qualified instructors from the Special Forces Rider Team, ensuring professional and high-standard training delivery.

  • COLONEL B K S L RODRIGO ASSUMES DUTIES AS 22ND COMMANDER OF 613 INFANTRY BRIGADE

    Colonel B K S L Rodrigo RSP assumed duties as the 22nd Brigade Commander of the 613 Infantry Brigade on 11 December 2025. A ceremonial guard turnout by 9 SLSR troops warmly welcomed the new Commander. To mark the occasion, a group photograph was taken, followed by a symbolic tree planting. Colonel Rodrigo later addressed the troops, outlining key expectations and responsibilities towards the duty.

  • 11 SLNG TROOPS RESTORE ANAMAGUWA CENTRAL COLLEGE AFTER STORM DAMAGE

    Troops of the 11 Sri Lanka National Guard carried out a clearing operation at Anamaduwa Central College, which had suffered significant damage due to fallen trees. The team promptly cut down and removed the obstructing trees, ensuring the safety of the school premises. Their efforts helped restore normalcy and prepare the environment for the resumption of educational activities.

    Troops of the 11 Gemunu Watch carried out a cleaning operation at the Bodiraja Pre-School in Ratnapura on 09 December 2025. The pre-school had been flooded and was left covered in mud. The timely effort of the troops restored the premises to a usable condition, ensuring a safe and clean environment for the children to return to their learning activities.

  • MEDICAL CAMP BRINGS ESSENTIAL HEALTHCARE TO BULUGALA

    A medical camp coordinated with the Army Hospital – Colombo was conducted at Bulugala Maha Vidyalaya on 09 December 2025, providing treatment to 129 patients. One medical officer and five nurses delivered essential healthcare services, while troops of the 9 Sri Lanka National Guard facilitated the programme, ensuring its smooth and effective execution for the local community.
