  • SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP TRAINING CAMP EMPOWERS PREFECTS AT SRI SUBHUTHI NATIONAL SCHOOL

    On 5 April 2024, with the permission of the Commander of the Army and under the guidance of the Commander of the 14 Infantry Division, and the supervision of the Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade, a leadership camp was conducted for 63 prefects of Sri Subhuthi National School in Battaramulla. The program included various activities:

  • SECURITY FORCES WEST HOSTS TRAINING LECTURE ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

    The training program organized by Security Forces West included a series of lectures held at the Engineer Service Regimental Lecture Hall on 17 April 2024. Lieutenant Colonel T P G K P Alwis RWP USP psc led the session.

  • TROOPS BID FAREWELL TO RETIRING GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING - 61 INFANTRY DIVISION

    The 61 Infantry Division organized a formal farewell on 10 April 2024 at its Boossa premises to honor Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, who is relinquishing his role as the General Officer Commanding. Troops from the 2(V) Gemunu Watch (GW) conducted a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour ceremony in the parade square. Officers, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and Other Ranks of the division attended the event.

  • JOURNEY TO FREEDOM

    Under the guidance of Major General KAWNH Bandaranayaka USP, the General Officer Commanding - 14 Infantry Division, a heifer has been liberated from a slaughterhouse as part of the 13th Anniversary celebrations of the division. This act was achieved through the remarkable contributions of all ranks within the under command Brigades and Battalions.

  • 14 INFANTRY DIVISION MARKS 13TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COLORFUL CELEBRATIONS

    The 14 Infantry Division celebrated its 13th anniversary with a series of events on 6 April 2024. The day commenced with a colorful Guard Turnout at the entrance followed by a ceremonial parade at the 6 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment parade ground at Panagoda, in honor of Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division. Subsequently, the Chief Guest, along with the Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and All Ranks of the under-command Brigades and Battalions, participated in an All Ranks Tea Party.

  • ANOTHER COMMUNITY PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY 141 INFANTRY BRIGADE

    Under the direction of Commander Security Forces (West) Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, and with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP, the troops of 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery organized a community program, with the supervision of Commander 141 Infantry Brigade Colonel R R De S Dharmawickrama RSP.

  • 144 BRIGADE SUPPORTS SUCCESSFUL DRUG PREVENTION PROGRAM AT VIDYAWARDHANA COLLEGE - PELAWATTA

    A drug prevention program was conducted on 2 April 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vidyawardhana College - Pelawatta, under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division and the supervision of the Brigade Commander of 144 Infantry Brigade. Instructions were given to address the acute problem of drug usage within the entire rural and urban school system.

  • CONTRIBUTION OF WEST TROOPS IN MAINTAINING ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES

    On 2 April 2024 a symbolic strike, organized by health sector trade unions, prompted the deployment of troops from the Security Forces (West) to hospitals impacted by the strike. The troops, including those from the 14 Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, and 1 Battalion of Sri Lanka Womens Corps, swiftly assisted in maintaining essential health services at National Hospital Colombo and Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. This operation was conducted under the instructions of Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu Commander of the Army and the supervision of Major General SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commander of the Security Force Headquarters (West) respectively.
