  • COMMANDER 613 INFANTRY BRIGADE ASSUMED OFFICE

    Colonel URIB Ranathunga RSP USP officially assumed command as the 9th Commander of the 613 Infantry Brigade at the Brigade Headquarters in Kamburupitiya on 4 January 2024. Thereby,the newly appointed commander was warmly welcomed the Brigade's staff,and greeted with a guard turnout by the troops of 3 (V) Gemunu Watch.

  • COMMANDER 144 INFANTRY BRIGADE TAKE OVER DUTIES

    Brigadier M K D P Mapalagama psc from Gamunu Watch assumed command as the 12th Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade on 8 January 2024, taking charge at the Brigade Headquarters in Akuregoda, Pelawaththa. Upon his arrival, the newly-appointed Brigade Commander was greeted with a warm welcome by the Brigade’s staff, and a guard turnout by troops from the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

  • 14 VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY REGIMENT HONORS FALLEN HEROES WITH GENEROUS DONATION TO APEKSHA HOSPITAL

    The 14th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment held a donation program on December 27, 2023, benefiting 850 patients of Maharagama Cancer Hospital. The event aimed to honor and express gratitude to the fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland during the war. The Commanding Officer, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this commemorative event.

  • SECURITY FORCES WEST HOSTS INSIGHTFUL TRAINING LECTURES ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND WELLNESS

    The training program was organized by Security Forces West included a series of lectures held at the Engineer Service Regimental Lecture Hall on 20 December 2023. Specialist Psychiatrist Brigadier Roshan Monaragala USP, along with a team of lecturers from the Sri Lanka Army Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health, led the sessions.

  • 2(V) GEMUNU WATCH RESPOND TO KARAPITIYA EARTH SLIP

    Troops from the 2(V) Gemunu Watch of the 613 Infantry Brigade, under the command of the Security Force Headquarters - West, were conducted a rescue operations near the Teaching Hospital in Karapitiya on 9 December 2023. A mound of earth collapsed at a nearby construction site, trapping three workers.

  • CONTRIBUTION OF FATIGUE TEAM FOR RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

    With the permission of Commander of the Army supervision of General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division and guidance of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade provide 00‹05 troops of 10 Sri Lanka National Guard to colour wash and clean Jayawadanagama Maithree Darmayathana temple Baththaramulla on 25 and 26 November 2023 for the preparation of Katina Pinkama.
