    In conjunction with World Chidren’s Day 2025, A series of children’s programme organized by Kelni Shakthi Maternal Health Organization for the chidren of Ranahansa Children’s Society was held on 2025.10.04 at the 2 (V) SLLI Play groung. The Programme was successfully carried out with the under the guidance of the Commander SFHQ(West), the guidance of the GOC 14 Inf Div, the supervision of the Comd 144 Inf Bde and participation of 01 x 20 troops of 2 (V) SLLI.

Together we shared a meal, donated sanitary and essential items, and further strengthened our commitment to community and duty. United, we serve not only within the operational field, but also beyond it.

  • AWARENESS LECTURE ON PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AND MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR SRI LANKA ARMY PERSONNEL

    AWARENESS LECTURE ON PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AND MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR SRI LANKA ARMY PERSONNEL “Small steps in care, big change in life” An awareness lecture on psychological counseling and the benefits available through the Seva Vanitha Medical Assistance Fund, as well as an introduction to the Suwasewana Hospital, Kandy, was conducted on 25 September 2025 at the RHQ SLNG Auditorium. The session was conducted by the medical professionals and staff of Suwasewana Private Hospital, Kandy, with the participation of over 10 Officers and 200 Other Ranks of the 57 Infantry Division AOR.

    The event was further graced by the presence of Retired Major General SRB Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, former Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, together with his spouse. In addition, Major General KDML Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division, and the Commander 571 Brigade Headquarters also participated in the programme. Additionally, the 9th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard contributed immensely to the success of this pivotal event.

  • ONE-DAY COMPUTER TRAINING WORKSHOP - 61 DIVISION

    Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, Major General W S V Fernando USP ndc IG, a one-day computer training workshop on emerging information-technology trends was conducted on Wednesday, 24 September 2025 at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) – Galle centre. The programme aimed to strengthen digital literacy and boost the professional use of contemporary IT tools among military personnel of the 61 Infantry Division and its under command Bde and Battalion.

  • 8 BATTALION SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT ASSIST TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE BROKE OUT IN KEGALLE TOWN ON 23 SEPTEMBER 2025

    03 x 34 Troops of the 8th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assisted in extinguishing a fire broke out in a building at Kegalle town around 1010 hrs on 23 September 2025, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of the 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. The troops successfully controlled and extinguished the fire, with the assistance of local authorities. No damage or injury was reported to any person during the incident.

  • 144 Infantry Brigade troops provide assislto to make Local Government Week a success

    With the approval of the Commander SF HQ (West) under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division and under the supervision of the Commander, 144 Infantry Bde the troops of the 2(v) SLLI Unit of this Infantry Brigade actively contributed to the success of the Wellampitiya Public Market Complex cleaning program and the tree planting program near the Meethotamulla Garbage Yard held by the Kolonnawa Urban Council on 18 and 19 September 2025, in celebration of the Local Government Week being held under the theme "Punarudye Puravaraya".

  • Conduct anevergreen tree planting program in conjunction with the World Ozone leyerProtection Day

    With the approval of Comd - SF HQ (West) under the guanine of the GOC - 14 Inf Div and under the supervision of Comd - 144 Inf Bde conducted evergreen tree planting programe with the participation troops of 144 Inf Bde and 2 (V) SLLI on 16 September 2025 in conjunction with the world Ozone layer Protection Day. An extensive awareness programe also conducted among the 144 Ind Bde troops to prevent activities that are harmful to the Ozone layer and to take sustainable measures to protect the Ozone layer. A comprehensive awareness programe was conducted for the troops of 144 Inf Bde on the prevention of activities that are harmful to the Ozone layer as well as sustainable measures to protect the Ozone layer.
