  • COMMANDER 144 INFANTRY BRIGADE GRACES M D H JAYAWARDENA VIDYALAYA ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

    The annual sports meet of M D H Jayawardena Vidyalaya, Battaramulla, was held at the school ground on 07 March 2025. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Brigadier B Y C Fernando, RWP, USP, the Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade, who attended as the chief guest following an invitation from the school principal.

  • CEREMONIAL LAUNCHING OF CLEAN SRI LANKA SCHOOL LEVEL PROGRAMME IN 61 INFANTRY DIVISION AREA

    As part of a key government initiative, the "Clean Sri Lanka Programme" has been introduced into the school system. The first phase of this initiative in 61 Infantry Division area, which aims to be implemented in 11 schools was launched on 20 Feb 2025.

  • SCHOOL CLEANING AND RENOVATION PROGRAM UNDER THE CLEAN SRI LANKA PROGRAM

    Parallel to the Clean Sri Lanka" program, as per the concept of the Commander of the Army, the cleaning and renovation program of selected with the low facilities schools was initiated in the selected WP/Gm/Pelpita Primary Vidyalaya, Pugoda and Pahalayagoda Sri Swarnapali Maha Vidyalaya in the Gampaha District as per the priority policy and the cleaning programs were initiated and the inaugural ceremony was held in those schools with great pomp on 20th February 2025.

  • CIVILIAN WALLET WITH CASH AND VALUABLES RETURNED TO RIGHTFUL OWNER BY SENIOR ARMY OFFICER

    Setting an admirable example for all members of the Sri Lanka Army, Colonel W M D H R K Welikanna RWP, the Colonel General Staff of the 61 Infantry Division, found a wallet containing cash and valuables on the roadside in the Boossa area while cycling along Galle Road in the early hours of the day. The wallet, which belonged to W.E. Sameera Madusanka, was handed over to him on 17 February 2025 after he was traced through his residential address and brought to the Headquarters of the 61 Infantry Division.

    Colonel WGIS Gamage USP assumed duties as the 13th Commander of 572 Infantry Brigade on 10 February 2025 at the Brigade Headquarters Balangoda in a formal and dignified ceremony.

  • 144 INFANTRY BRIGADE LEADS EXTENSIVE CLEANING INITIATIVE IN SUPPORT TO CLEAN SRI LANKA PROGRAM

    Under the direction of the Commander of the Army, with instructions from the Commander Security Force (West) and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division, the 144 Infantry Brigade conducted a large-scale cleaning programme on 15 February 2025. The program covered Polduwa Road, Parliament Road, Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship Road, the Thurumithiru Project area, and Diyawanna Lake, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting the government Clean Sri Lanka Program.
