Fire was reported at the warehouse of the private company, wehera sampath sticker vehicle decoration, kurunegala, at around 1400 hours on 03 july 2025, due to an electrical leuk. The fire was extinguished with the support of officers from the kurunegala fire rescue department, 00 x 30 troops from the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka National Guard and 02 x 30 troop including the commanding officer of the 9th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

The session was conducted by Major MI Marikkar MIC, a senior officer specializing in media and psychological operations.

'Clean Sri Lanka' awareness programme was successfully conducted for the government servants of Palindanuwara Divisional Secretariat at Baduraliya from 1030 hour to 1230 hour on 23 June 2025 by Sri Lanka Army. The awareness programme was conducted by the Institute of Peace Support Operation Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) in linear with 21st anniversary of the IPSOTSL. Moreover. instructor assistance was given by the Major MH Wickramarachchi SLLI (O/68221) and Sergeant Kumararathne NMN (S/470738) for said awareness programme and was highly appreciated by the Palindanuwara Divisional Secretariat.

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, a special lecture on “Awareness Programme On Tax Identification Number” was held on 25 June 2025, in line with the Wednesday training programme. The session was conducted by Ms Wasanthi Perera, Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department, and Mr A A B Jayaratna, Senior Deputy Commissioner. The lecture primarily focused on educating about income tax and wealth declarations.

In conjunction with the commemoration of Sri Lankans who sacrificed their lives for the peace of the motherland, the 141 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, along with under-command battalions, organized a blood donation programme in collaboration with the Ragama teaching hospital blood bank on 17 June 2025 with at the brigade premises. A total of 05 x 96 Army personnel participated, reflecting their commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.

Due to adverse weather conditions and strong winds, Rajawaka Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Balangoda sustained damage to its buildings and surroundings. In response, under the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (West) and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, 1 X 15 military personnel from the 18th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard were deployed to assist with recovery efforts and assigned to support the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), Balangoda. The team was actively engaged in removing fallen trees and clearing the school premises to restore safety and accessibility. Their swift and dedicated efforts greatly contributed to rehabilitating the school environment, ensuring minimal disruption to educational activities. This operation highlights the Army’s ongoing commitment to supporting civil authorities during natural disasters.
