144 BRIGADE SUPPORTS SUCCESSFUL DRUG PREVENTION PROGRAM AT VIDYAWARDHANA COLLEGE - PELAWATTA

A drug prevention program was conducted on 2 April 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vidyawardhana College - Pelawatta, under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division and the supervision of the Brigade Commander of 144 Infantry Brigade. Instructions were given to address the acute problem of drug usage within the entire rural and urban school system.

One hundred students from grades 9, 10, and 11 of the aforementioned school participated in the program. Lieutenant Colonel ERS Dayananda from National Cadets Corps, the Coordinating Officer of the Rehabilitation Bureau, provided assistance under the guidance of Ms. Dulshani Tharaka Mahanama, Assistant Education and Information Officer of the Preventive Education and Training Division of the National Drug Control Board.
