The Michael Vaz and Honey Thamel Elle Tournament - 2023 was a thrilling event that took place from 08 to 16 July 2023, at the Thoduwawa Golden Beach Sports Club playground. The tournament was organized by the Thoduwawa Golden Beach Sports Club in Marawila and featured 16 teams, including the Sri Lanka Army Elle team.

Responding to the need for immediate action, a contingent of Army personnel belonging to 8 Battalion Gemunu Watch of the 611 Infantry Brigade under the 61 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (West) rushed recently, on 22 July 2023, to general area Kongahamankada in Kalthota Divisional Secretariat at around morning hours and doused the bush fire that was fast spreading due to prevailing dry weather.

With the intention of speeding up the National Dengue Prevention Campaign being implemented island-wide, troops serving under the 14 and 61 Infantry Divisions under the Security Forces (West) contributed their manpower to another Dengue prevention campaign from 14 to 16 July 2023, covering 26 MOH office areas in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kegalle, Galle, Matara and Rathnapura, where a rise in Dengue patients has been reported.

On 13 July 2023, Major General D. M. K. D. B. Pussella RWP RSP, Commander Security Forces (West), gifted a Buddha statue of his own to be placed inside the newly built shrine room at the 1 Sri Lanka Army Engineer Service Regiment Panagoda. This serene and sacred shrine room was specially built to provide a place for religious observances and meditation for the military personnel stationed at the Regiment.
