Security Forces (Jaffna) Releases 80 Acres of Civilian Land in Jaffna

In consistent with the government policy of releasing northern lands, hitherto used by the Security Forces to their original owners, the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), in coinciding with the 75th Independence Day, on the instructions of Honourable President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and with the guidance of the Defence Secretary and the Commander of the Army, released 80 acres of land in Kankasanthurai, Mailaddy and Anthanipuram areas under Thelippalai Divisional Secretariat to their original owners on 03rd February 2023 during a special ceremony.

Commander SF (J) Attended an Athletic Meet Organized in a Grand Scale by Two Renowned Schools in Jaffna

As per the invitation of respective Principals of Jaffna St Henry’s College and its partner school Ilavalai Convent Maha Vidyalayam, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota attended the Annual Inter-House Athletic Meet as the Chief Guest. The Annual Inter-House Athletic Meet was held on 18thJanuary 2023 at St Henry’s College, playground.

Commander SF (J) Witnessed the Final Encounter of “Dan Pudiyavidiyal”

As per the invitation of Mr. SS Kuhanathan, the Chairman of ASK Media (PVT) Ltd, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota attended the final encounter of the Football Tournament as the Chief Guest, which was organized annually by DanTV. The final encounter of “Dan Pudiyavidiyal” was held on 16th January 2023 at Duraiappa Stadium, Jaffna.

The Tamil Tai Pongal Day Celebration Programme Along With Donation of School Stationeries for Students/Coconut Saplings for Villagers in the Area Conducted by 552 Infantry Brigade

On the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratna and the supervision of Brigadier Wijayanath Jayaweera, the Commander 552 Infantry Brigade, the troops of 552 Infantry Brigade of the 55 Infantry Division of Security Forces (Jaffna), in continuation of its series of community assistance programmes conducted a Tamil Tai Pongal Day Celebration Programme entwined with a donation programme (worth about Rs:800,000.00) on 16th January 2023 at Public Bus Stand Premises Pallai.

Distribution of Dry Ration Packs to Underprivileged Expectant Mothers and Families by 521 Infantry Brigade

As per the guidance of Colonel HAI Perera RWP RSP USP, Commander 521 Infantry Brigade, gifted 20 dry ration packs (each worth of Rs 5000.00) to selected underprivileged expectant mothers and families. This donation programme was held at 521 Infantry Brigade Headquarter premises on 14th January 2023.

513 Brigade Built and Vested a New House for a Well Deserving Athlete in Jaffna

513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again and extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to encourage a Player, who brought laurels to Victoria Collage Chullipuram, Jaffna. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota graced the house warming ceremony and handed over the keys of the new house to Mrs. Selwarasa Kiristiga, who is a member of Under 19 Women’s National Cricket Squad on 06 January 2023.

New Year Blessing Ceremony Followed by Dry Ration Distribution

A timely essential community programme was initiated in the area of Nagarkovil, Wadamarachchi East DS Division under the patronage of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne on 01 January 2023, the New Year Day. To evoke blessing for the people in the area, a kovil pooja was organized at the most ancient Hindu kovil in Nagarkovil followed by a donation of dry ration packs to extremely necessitous people of 30 families each worth of Rs: 10,000.00 approximately. The Donation was received under the blessing of Miss Anaya Koswatta, who is residing in United State of America at present.
