The 55 Infantry Division's 26thAnniversary commemoration has already started with a blood donation programme by the division's troops. This noble occasion was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding Major General Prasanna Gunaratne re-assuring the highest number of blood donors from the troops to the blood bank, Teaching Hospital Jaffna. Moreover, this is an effort to invoke blessings for the men under his command and for those who gave their lives over the division's 26-years history.

Continuing with its Community Assistance Projects under the guidance of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding - 55 Infantry Division, troops of 551 Infantry Brigade laid the foundation stone to erect yet another new house for a underprivileged family in the Thunnalai South, Karaveddy on 10 December 2022. Financial assistance provided by overseas based Ms. Thabitha Chinnaiah in memory of Joy Arulrajah, Son of Rev. Ms Chinniah.

The Kavudumunna Raja Maha Viharaya, Dambadeniya along with Bosath Foundation of Bujjomuwa Railway Station organized a Pirith Chanting Train Journey ‘New Year of Prosperity’ from Beliatta to Kankesanthurai on 11 and 12 December 2022 in order to promote peace and reconciliation among communities. The train with Pirth Chanting accompanied 17 Buddhist dignitaries led by Ven. Ginnaliye Ayupala Thero and 400 devotees from all parts of the Island, and they were received by the Troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) at the Kankesanthurai Railway Station at 09.00 pm on 11 December 2022.

The 513 Infantry Brigade initiated another humanitarian intervention by laying foundation stone for constructing a new house to a necessitous family in Kaddudei, Manippai, Jaffna on 09 December 2022.

The troops of 55 Infantry Division constructed a home for Sergeant Bandaranayaka, who has been performing duties as a clerk in the Division for newly 4 years.

Taking another leap on civil - military coordination, on the direction of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division,553 Infantry Brigade has organized inter clubs soft ball cricket tournament among the Grama Niladare Divisions. Total 8 teams took part in the tournament and preliminary & semifinals played 3rd week of November.

To maintain goodwill among the Army and Tamil Community, along with the blessings and guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando,7th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment offered a special lunch and took steps to organizea programme of distributing school accessories among twenty-three students studying at Roman Catholic Tamil School, Chawakachcheri.

Continuing with its Community Assistance projects, troops of 551 Infantry Brigade, on the guidelines of Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) once again extended their helping hands to laid the foundation stone to erect another new house for a well deserving family in the Thumpalai, Point Pedro on Thursday, 24 November 2022 in the presence of Brigadier Clifford de Zoysa, Commander- Forward Maintenance Area (North) as the Chief Guest.

Manpower and technical expertise of the Army and the patronage of a generous donor enabled the 551 Infantry Brigade troops to build a new house for a low income family in the general area of Puloly (West), Point Pedro and vested it with the beneficiaries in the presence of Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

On a concept and the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando in order to maintain goodwill among the Army and Tamil Community, the staff of the 52 Infantry Division offered a special lunch on 22 November 2022, for thirty-five people who are residing in the Deaf and Blind Elders Home at Kaithady.
