Another Community Assistance Project Conducted by 55 Infantry Division

On the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division Major General Prasanna Gunaratna RSP ndu psc IG and the supervision of Brigadier WijayanathJayaweera USP psc the Commander 552 Infantry Brigade; the troops of 552 Infantry Brigade of the 55 Infantry Division under Security Forces (Jaffna), in continuation of its series of community assistance programmes, conducted a donation programme (worth about 1.8 million rupees) on 20 November 2022 at Iyakkachchi Government Mix Tamil School (GMTS).

Donation of School Items for Students at Maruthankerny Valluwar Pre - School

Troops of 10th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment of the 553 Infantry Brigade under the 55 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), extending the Army’s helping hand towards deserving students donated 30 packs of school items to the students of Valluwar pre - school at Maruthankerny on 09th November 2022.

Another Community Project By Troops of 55 Infantry Division to Enable A Widow to Make A Living

An Army initiative, taken by the 55 Infantry Division resulted in the donation of a sewing machine to a necessitous but courageous widow, Maduran Nadiya (Age 36) resident in the general area of Kevil in Jaffna under command to 55 Infantry Division on 29th October 2022 as an effort to bring economic stability and empowering the well deserving family. Further, the troops of 55 Infantry Division extended their support to make a proper place for tailoring with the intention of laying the foundation strengthening the backbone of the family and the bedrock of a Nation.

Troops have Shared their Support with Tamil Community for the Deepavali Festival

As the gesture of the goodwill among Army and Tamil community, with the blessing of General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Major General Anuruddha Fernando RWP RSP ndu and the Commanders of 521,522 and 523 Infantry Brigades and troops organized series of events coincide with Deepavali festival.
