513 Infantry Brigade initiated another humanitarian intervention by distributing school bags and stationaries worth Rs. 1.2 million among 194 grade 5 school children of economically deprived families in the 513 Infantry Brigade area under the patronage of Mr. R Suresh, President of Sri Murugan Foundation, Pradeepaloka,on 12 March 2023.
The event was organized as per the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota, under the direction of General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General VajiraWelagedra,and under the supervision of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Rizvi Razick.
This donation was initiated to enhance trust and confidence among the military and civil community. Further, as an encouragement to grade 5 students beforethe scholarship exam in the year 2023 as they were finding it difficult to attend school due to lack of resources. The programme was organized by the Commanding Officer of the 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Kariyawasm and his troops at Karainagar Hindu College.
