23rd Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East), organized an awareness lecture on wild elephant attacks to the students of grade 10 to 13 of Lahugala Maha Vidyalaya. The lecture was delivered by wild life officers of Lahugala. Army officials and teachers of the school were also participated for the lecture. (Troops participated 02 x 07)

12th Gajaba Regiment located under 231 Brigade of 23 Division in Security Force (East) organized a cricket tournament with the participation of 44 x cricket clubs in Batticaloa area at Sivananda play grounds and Pattalipuram Public ground in Batticaloa on 27th Sep 2014. (Troops participated 08 x 60)

23rd Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under 242 Brigade of 24 Division in Security Force (East), conducted medical clinic for students of Hulannuge Central College, Ampara with the sponsorship from Diamond Star Lions Club at Attanagalle on 27 Sep 2014. Further 156 x students were gifted with school amenities worth of Rs: 3000/= on this occasion. (Troops participated 03 x 10)
