HANDING OVER OF RECONSTRUCTED AND FULLY COMPLETED HOUSE

S/R102690 Pte Dirona T belongs to 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, a Tamil soldier who has enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army from the Akkarapattu area and presently she is performing her duties at 24 Infantry Division Headquarters. Tragedy struck when an unexpected fire engulfed her residence, resulting in its complete destruction of the house. This unfortunate incident left Pte Dirona T, her elderly grandfather, and grandmother in dire circumstances.

ENHANCING SARASWATHI PRESCHOOL FACILITIES IN KATHIRAWELI WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF ARMY TROOPS

The Saraswathi Preschool is situated in the Pudur, Kathiraweli, and offering early childhood education to 41 students from the Pudur village. Despite operating under the Provincial Council, the preschool has faced significant challenges in acquiring essential resources like desks, tables, chairs, and proper sanitary facilities with water systems, building maintenance, and a functional kitchen. The dedicated teaching staff, comprising three educators, including a remarkable female teacher with a 16-year tenure, have been instrumental in nurturing and preparing several students for higher education.

24 INFANTRY DIVISION CONDUCTED A RELIGIOUS PROGRAMME IN THE MEMORY OF LATE LIEUTENANT GENERAL DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA

The Sri Lankan nation has seen its fair share of heroes and patriots who have left an indelible mark on the history of the island. One such remarkable figure is the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa, whose contributions to the nation's defense and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty have made him a revered and cherished figure. To commemorate his 31st death anniversary, a religious programme has been performed on 08 August 2023 at the headquarters of the 24 Infantry Division, serving as a poignant reminder of his sacrifices and dedication.

233 INFANTRY BRIGADE CONDUCT MENTAL WELLNESS PROGRAMME AND LUNCH FOR CHILDREN AT THILAKAVATHIAR CHILDREN HOME

The entertainment programme and special lunch organized for the children of Kadiraweli Thilakawathiyar children home by 233 Infantry Brigade with the guidance of 23 Infantry Division at Sallative beach on 01 August 2023 with the coordination and supervision of Commander 233 Infantry Brigade, Colonel AKCS De Silva RSP.

24 INFANTRY DIVISION JOIN HANDS WITH OLD ANANDIYANS 95 GROUP FOR NUWARAGALATHENNA SCHOOL PROJECT

With the coordination of 24 Infantry Division and the monetary contribution of old Anandiyans 95 group, 161 students in needy families of Aranthalawa Nuwaragalathenna School, Ampara received school books, stationery, school bags, shoes and school uniforms on 31 July 2023. Each gift pack was worth nearly Rs.15000.00 was donated during the programme and this generous donation was an encouragement that they gave to the students. Same time, donation of variety of books for the school library, special gift packs for the school teachers were also included in the programme.

BRIGADE COMMANDER OF 242 INFANTRY BRIGADE OFFICIALLY VISITS TO UNDER COMMAND BATTALION

Colonel KPL Amunupure RWP RSP USP, the Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade - Komari marked his maiden visit to 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard at Kanchirankuda on 27 July 2023 after assumption of his duties.
At the main entrance of the Battalion the Brigade Commander was accorded with Guard Turnout by the troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

Headquarters 23 Infantry Division recently celebrated its 26th anniversary with a series of events that showcased the division's commitment to its soldiers and the local community. The celebrations were held on July 23, 2023, under the guidance and leadership of General Officer Commanding Brigadier K V N P Premarathne RSP USP psc.
