The Past Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, laid the foundation stone for the construction of Sadaham Mandir and Tunnel Cave Museum at Sri Bodirukkarama Viharaya, located in the Polonnaruwa district, 4 Ala area on 09 March 2023.
With the guidance of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne of the new Commander, Security Forces - East continued the construction work under the supervision of the 23 Infantry Division. The troops of 7 Sri Lanka Artillery together with Garrison Engineers - Walikanda completed the first phase of the construction of the Sadaham Mandir. The name board of the Sadaham Mandir, at Sri Bodirukkarama Viharaya, opening ceremony was held on 25 August 2023, by the hands of Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division.
The General Officer Commanding the 23 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Chief Coordinator of Civil Affairs of Security force Headquarters - East Colonel HHPC Halpage, "Maha Sanga" of the 4 Ala area, many public officials and contributors also participated to this occasion.
