    Major General GRRP Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu, Commander, Security Forces (East) paid his first official visit to the 24 Infantry Division Headquarters in Malwaththa, Ampara during 25 - 28 May 2022 upon his assumption of office as the Commander, Security Forces (East).

  • NEW SF EAST COMMANDER ASSUMES DUTIES

    Major General G R R P Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu of Sinha Regiment assumed office as the 23rd Commander of Security Forces - East at his office on 06th May 2022 during a simple ceremony. He succeeds Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu who will shortly retire from the Army. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour soon after his arrival in the premises greeted him in accordance with military traditions before he participated in religious observances of Buddhist faith in the company of several Senior Officers.

  • OUTGOING SF-EAST COMMANDER HONOURED

    Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East on 5th May 2022 conducted a farewell to the outgoing Commander Security Forces - East, Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu during a formal military ceremony, held at the SFHQ-East premises.

  • TROOPS' INITIATIVE GETS BICYCLES FOR NEEDY STUDENTS IN THIKILIWEDDAI

    In order to stimulate students for studies and facilitate their routine movements, the 232 Infantry Brigade and the 12th Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard jointly worked and received the support of the donors to provide bicycles to 15 needy school students of Kayankuda, Thikiliweddai School in Batticaloa District, during a brief ceremony held on Monday (04).

  • EASTERN PROVINCE GOVERNOR AND THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE EAST PAYS AN INSPECTION VISIT TO NELUGALA PREHISTORC SACRED PREMISES

    Following instructions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, to protect and preserve archeological and historic sites from vandalism and encroachments by individuals and organized groups, the Commander Security Force (East) together with the gracious presence of the Governor of the Eastern Province made an inspection visit to the Sacred Nelugala prehistoric site on 22 February 2022.

  • ANOTHER STOCK OF 22 DIVISION PRODUCED ORGANIC FERTILIZER RELEASED

    Giving a boost to the Government's Organic Fertilizer Production Process as per the directions of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, another stock of organic fertilizer produced by the troops under the 22 Infantry Division was released to ‘Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited' (Lak Pohora) at the Headquarters premises of 22 Infantry Division in Trincomalee on Saturday (19).

    Major General Lal Chandrasiri, the Commander Security Force (East) made his field visits to the Headquarters 22 Infantry Division, 221, 222 and 223 Infantry Brigades during February 18, 19 and 20.

  • DISTRIBUTION OF BABY CARE EQUIPMENT FOR PREGNANT MOTHERS

    As per the directions given by the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatte, a donation of baby care equipment for pregnant mothers was conducted by the troops of 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 02 February 2022 at Dharmaraja Temple in Mangalagama in Eraurpaththu DS Division.

    The East-based ancient 'Deegawapiya', one of the sixteen places of Buddhist worship (Solosmasthana), sanctified by the arrival of the Buddha, now in the process of receiving a facelift and a complete renovation under the ‘Deegawapiya Aruna Trust Fund’, established by Defence Secretary and Chairperson of ‘Archaeological Heritage Management Presidential Task Force’ (PTF) for Eastern Province, Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) had its new Relic Chamber opened on Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day (17) during a ceremony.
